The well finally ran dry, and Meredith must go back to work now that Tristan is 6 months old. Meredith dusts off her résumé and wants to update it for the new millenium. Out with New York, in with Luna.

Resume with catFontastic
Meredith lets MacKenzie ‘help’ create her résumé on the PowerBook. She steers MacKenzie towards the classy Luna font and away from Arriba Arriba. MacKenzie also tries to drag kitty pictures into the résumé — after all it’s so easy to drag anything from movies and pictures to funny sounds into AppleWorks documents.

After encouraging MacKenzie to go help Daddy with his garage sale, Meredith uses spell check to ensure that her daughter didn’t cause irreparable harm. With such boisterous help running between rooms, Meredith sets the AppleWorks Auto-save feature to save once per minute instead of once an hour.
Auto save
Meredith uses the multi column format to have text both left- and right-justified on the same line with the click of a single button. Meredith formats her résumé with one of the ready-made styles. She prefers the bulleted list over numbered and lettered lists. She uses the thesaurus to look up words such as ‘responsible.’

Meredith also uses the word processing module to create cover letters. Since they mostly contain the same phrases, she keeps a cover letter in her Starting Points work tab. Once she finds a lead, she’s just a click away from a new letter.

Attach resume to mailMeredith saves her résumé in Microsoft Word format as well as a PDF file to send to potential employers. Meredith emails her friends and family to let them know that her résumé is available on her Mac.com page, and attaches it in both formats. Hopefully she didn’t miss any MacKenzieisms.
