Profiles in Success: Our Lady Queen of Peace Primary School
Sydney, Australia: Since 1925, Our Lady Queen of Peace has been offering Catholic education in the parish of Gladesville. Today, the primary school has over 250 students in Kindergarten through to Year 6. Students in the primary grades are from an education environment in which traditional teaching methods are now being complemented by an Apple MacBook and iLife ’06 suite.
With the support of Apple, the Principal Margaret Morgan introduced a range of multimedia and information-based components to the school’s Year 3 and 6 students. “Our initial intention was to conduct research on multi-modal learning; exploring ways in which readily available computing technology can be used to better engage with students and improve learning outcomes,” Mrs Morgan explains.
