Podcasting in Education Part 2: Meeting Standards with Podcasting
Premiered 3 March 2006

This video will introduce you to podcasting examples in the classroom, how podcasting workflows engage students, and the equipment used in a classroom environment.

Educators across the nation are using podcasting in their classrooms for language arts, language acquisition, and even art galleries for student work. Jeanne Halderson, seventh grade teacher, has been podcasting in her classroom for a year. Her class produces weekly podcasts as part of their language arts curriculum. She joins Jason to discuss the impact podcasting has made with her students in vocabulary, writing skills, and leadership. Jeanne will offer tips on getting your students started with podcasting and how incorporating podcasting into your curriculum will motivate their work. She will also share her students' comments about their podcasting experiences.

John Danty, product marketing manager for Garageband and GarageBand Jam Packs, covers the basics of audio podcasts and demonstrates the tricks of the trade like chapterised podcasts, integrated interviews within your podcasts, and how to improve your podcast production with music, jingles and sound effects.
