OK, but a few quality control issues

They're beautifully packaged, and do the job of lifting the monitor to a nice working height well. So no complaints there. However, I don't know whether I was just unlucky, but in two of the four cases it was almost impossible to fit the shelf into the slots as it was easily 5mm too wide. It required some brute force to make it go in. I appreciate that it needs a tight fit, but this was a little excessive. Another quirk was that the supplied hex (or Allen) key didn't fit the heads of the screws. Given I had three sets of screws to play with and none of them worked, that seemed pretty strange to me. Not a major drama - that's what toolboxes are for - but odd nonetheless. So something might be a bit wonky in quality control, but now that they're built I'm happy and they're doing the job that I wanted them for.

      Does the job

I felt a real sense of anticipation as I opened up the box but ... the design of the product is disappointing! The overall look and general finish is too industrial. It doesn't blend well with the iMac or other office kit and the storage space is also very limited (e.g. I've stored a rarely used CD drive inside). On the positive side, it was easy to set up and does everything I need but I doubt I'd have paid £70 if I'd seen it on the high street.

      Good product- poor finish

Like other reviews of this product, I like the design and thought put into this product (after all, I bought it!). However, the finish of the rubber/ plastic Like other reviews of this product, I like the design and thought put into this product (after all, I bought it!). However, the finish of the rubber/ plastic edges of the shelf left a bit to be desired. There were also small, but notable dints and scratches throughout the product. I've bought TwelveSouth products before and they have been of high quality. This one though doesn't maintain this.

Even more than I expected, couldn't be happier.

I baulked a little when I originally saw the price and promptly checked Amazon to see if it had been inflated (it hadn't). £70 for a computer stand? Really? Any I baulked a little when I originally saw the price and promptly checked Amazon to see if it had been inflated (it hadn't). £70 for a computer stand? Really? Anyway, fast forward, I bought it, it arrived very quickly, the packaging was sturdy and secure, it was easy to assemble, and it really is a top quality product. This is solid, sturdy, and as well as offering me an improved ergonomic experience, it also increases my desk space (always a plus!). I've got the unit set to the top height for my 27", which works for me. I guess somebody over 6'6'' may find need additional leverage but I think it would work for anyone else. I chose not to use the screws on the front cover so I could use it for storing every day items that clutter up my desk (wallet, keys, etc); the magnets are strong. Perhaps not a perfect colour match for the 2015 iMac but I still think it compliments the computer beautifully. Highly recommended product and in my opinion worth the money as I couldn't find anything else even remotely comparable. A+

      Why?

You have the chance to design a functional upgrade for an iconic machine and you design a dog's breakfast of a box that makes this sleek unit look like an iMac You have the chance to design a functional upgrade for an iconic machine and you design a dog's breakfast of a box that makes this sleek unit look like an iMac from 2004. Think harder and work harder. People seeing one of these on an iMac will completely think the computer is in that box, and you lose that moment where friends see your machine and ask "where is the computer?", and you get to chuckle and go "no that's it, it's in the screen". Now they'll just go "Oh so the computer is in that box?", and that's if they even say anything about it, it really does make the iMac look underwhelming.
