I thought that this had slide mounts in the box (so that i can remove the screen easily) but it does not. I had to get them separately from 3M... The filter does scratch easily though especially if you tend to remove it a lot.

Nice product however Gold would be wicked

Must say, quite straight forward to install. The anti-glare is awesome, the privacy is OK, not as good as I thought it would be. Yes it dims the screen, but you will only notice that at night and the glare reduction makes up for the slight dimness. I am using the Matte side as the viewing surface. There is a gold version, that would look wicked Also, if you use a keyboard protector, there are closing issues, but once you leave it closed for a while, the keyboard protector and the privacy screen kinda adjust themselves. Worth buying

This will give you the privacy you need if you are worried about people sitting next to you (right or left), but if you just step a foot away from your computer This will give you the privacy you need if you are worried about people sitting next to you (right or left), but if you just step a foot away from your computer or directly in front of it (imagine a lecture hall or a library), then its useless- all people will be able to see what you are looking at on your screen. Also, there is a significant amount of dimming effect so even if you had your screen on max brightness you'll have to take sometime getting used to the dimness of the screen- otherwise its OK also given that you are able to remove and reattach the screen as needed using the sticker strips provided in the box- I would not recommend getting this screen- doesn't really do its job for what I was expecting it to do.

Not a real privacy screen
This privacy screen by 3M isn't really a privacy filter. People on left/right can see your screen and understand clearly what you are doing. Very low customer experience for 3M this time.

DOES NOT FIT MACBOOK PRO 13 2013!!
This is an ok privacy screen, if people look from the side they mostly can't see anything. However, I bought mine online, and even though it say it fits MacBook Pro 13inch 'from 2009 to present', that is NOT true. The screen was obviously too big for my MacBook, which was purchased in 2013. It was roughly 1cm too long and 1cm too wide. Also does not come with the side mount tabs.

Try Again 3M -- I KNOW YOU CAN DO BETTER

I bought the 4 way privacy screen for my iPhone which is also made by 3M and LOVED IT. If the phone is on and you are not in front of it you see nothing but black. Indeed you cannot even tell the phone is on. Naturally, I assumed this product would produce the same affect. How wrong I was. Anyone to the left or right sees a dim screen not a darkened screen and can fully see enough shapes and text to know at what you are currently looking and on what you are working. I noted another review indicated that the filter does scratch. This was certainly true of the one for my iPhone but I have learned not to take this one off to avoid that reality. The dimming affect is also an unfortunate byproduct. It almost seems silly to buy a Retina screen just to diminish what makes it special but if privacy is important this is a necessary evil. Few included strips is not great but is a money making decision that does not consider the customer. Big surprise. Overall, I consider this to be an epic fail by 3M, which I know from experience possesses the technology to make a much much better product. Caveat emptor (buyer beware)!

This filter does not properly fit the 2009 MacBook Pro. I wanted this product for the anti-glare as This filter does not properly fit the 2009 MacBook Pro. I wanted this product for the anti-glare aspect, not for privacy. One side of the filter is for anti-glare, and the other side is for privacy. I have a 2009 13" MacBook Pro and the filter does not fit properly. It comes with two-sided tape for attaching it; I was expecting the kind that uses static to attach. You need to tape the filter to the screen so it covers everything and doesn't fall off, but doing this leaves about a half inch of the MacBook Pro screen unprotected around the perimeter. (The black border on the computer screen unprotected.) In my opinion, using the anti-glare side of the filter does not cut the glare enough to justify how bad it makes the screen look. I would estimate it cuts the *resolution* at least by 30%. I would estimate that the filter cuts the *glare* by about 10%. HOWEVER, the privacy side of the filter works as advertised; it blacks out the screen as the viewing angle widens, but you still need to tape it to the screen. Even if this filter fit correctly, I would have still returned it because it doesn't cut the glare enough to justify lessening the resolution as much as it does. However, if it fit correctly and I needed a privacy screen, this would be a good product.

I've just got this filter today. I was bit worried about the reduced brightness at first as the filt I've just got this filter today. I was bit worried about the reduced brightness at first as the filter appears to be virtually much darker than I expected. However, when I put it on, it doesn't seem to affect much. I have the brightness slightly less than halfway in a room with normal light and it is more than enough for me. Note that I use the matt side (as I hate glare and reflection). Would have loved to compare it side by side with the glossy one but don't think there's a big difference. All in all, the filter doesn't bother me at all with the brightness.
