      Pure Luxury & Great Sound!

I purch You don't have to be an audiophile to enjoy these high end, over the ears, headphones, but if you are an audiophile your going to enjoy these portables. I purchased mine at my local Apple Store a week ago have have been enjoying them ever since. After a few hours of break-in they sound even better. The leather ear cups are very comfortable, people that have medium-large ears might want to try them on to make sure your ears fit comfortably in the ear cups. I own the B&W P5 headphones and can attest that the P7 beats them for sound and comfort. However, that is at the expense of portability due to the larger size of the P7 when compared to the P3 and P5. B&W supplies a very nice case in which to transport these beauties in. The P7 works great with my iPhone 5 and iPad2. They don't need a separate headphone amplifier or DAC. But the are versatile as they scale up in sound when I put them to use with me desktop headphone amplifier and DAC (with an iMac as the sound source). I have not switched out the iPhone cable to the straight cable for theses sessions. A purist would, so it is nice that B&W supplies a second cable. Over on Head-Fi (a headphone enthusiast site) there are a lot of comparisons to the Sennheiser Momentum and a few other portables. The comments and reviews there are positive. The only con for these headphones are the cost. However, they are worth it if you enjoy beautifully made headphones that sound great.

I love these headphones. Physical appearance: I know this is subjective. I'm a 27 year old guy. I feel like they are not exactly marketed towards my demographic but someone in their 40's. The quality is excellent though. The leather is high quality and they leave me feeling like they will last for several years. Feel: Wearing them is really interesting. As I looked at them, I thought that there was no way that they could feel comfortable. Wow was I wrong. The ear cushions fit perfect. My ears don't touch inside of the ear cups and overall they feel light while wearing. I think because they are new they are still kind of squeezing my head a little. Sounds: You seriously need to experience this for yourself with a lossless music file. I can't even touch my other headphones now. Some of the ones that I tried and felt that were inferior were as follows: PSB M4U 2, Bose QC 15, V Moda M100, and Denon 600. Also worth noting that the sound isolation is very good. Price point: I feel that these sit right around where they belong. Overall Impression: I think these things are great. I'm definitely a B&W fan now. Lol, never thought I'd say that. Try these things, you won't regret it.

      Excellent

The best can headphones I have ever owned. Yes, they are pricey but worth it! ps: lossless or high bit rate more than 256 really show off he quality

Let's keep it simple... Pros: - Good natural, warm and detailed sound with good bass - Lovely solid and good quality durable materials Cons: - Hot and steamy ear cups after a short while of listening - Heavy on the head - Terrible Case. It's like squeezing a months worth of washing into a washing machine. - Headphone jack is poorly designed, sometimes causing me to lose connection to my device because of it's nature 180 degree angle - Poor isolation

Narrow soundstage, good bass, strong mids, distorted highs

Compared to the B&O H6, these headphones have a very narrow soundstage. Violins and other high pitch sounds are harsh. Female vocals and classical music sound Compared to the B&O H6, these headphones have a very narrow soundstage. Violins and other high pitch sounds are harsh. Female vocals and classical music sound good, but somewhat unrealistic. Certain instruments such as triangles could not be heard on these headphones. Bass is reasonably strong, but lacks definition compared to H6 and M&D MH40. Overall, sound is fairly bright. Included cable with remote contributes a lot to distortion and testing was done with regular cable (also included). Comparison was made between P7, MH40 and H6 after approximately 5 hours break in. For the same money, go for the B&O H6.

P5s sound good and are quite comfortable - much more so than I think they look as the leather is very accommodating on the ear. However, having been back and forth between these two, I can tell you that the P7 is a much more involving experience with not just a broader frequency range - warm deep bass, but in keeping with the music, not overdriven, and yet the sound stage for the higher frequencies is simply delightful and seems to offer better separation and clarity that the P5. It's for sure not just about over vs on-ear...
