The materials are great and the sound is, while not perfect, pretty darn good. Certainly, the sound is extremely bass-heavy, but these earphones are designed for basslovers, so that's not a draw. At first sight, they seem like amazing value for the money. That's why half the reviewers give them 5 stars - they rate them immediately after buying. The other half rate them 1-2 stars instead, because they rate them after using them for a few months. And most of us experience the same thing - they break. A lot. I've now had 5 different pairs of the latest generation in less than a year. Four of them are replacements, and none has ever lasted more than 12 weeks before they die, for no particular reason. No moisture, no physical stress, no heavy use or extreme conditions, all proper care taken. Dead. Broken. Don't be as stupid as I was - do not buy this. Just don't. You'll regret it if you do.

I took a chance and, at this point, I've found that the earbuds deliver excellent sound . I'm no ostentatious audiophile, but I am picky. These buds deliver on the bass, yes, but they are able to replicate vocals wonderfully. Everything from Leontyne Price's Aida to Tom Wait's low pitched growl. So much better than the Apple earbuds packaged with the iPhones. Love them now and hope that they will last through the warranty period. I won't pay more. Than $100 for buds because I think of them as consumables that should be replaced yearly.

On plane flights they are great for listening to movies , music, playing white noise on a loop for sleeping and especially for canceling out the plane crew making announcements about credit cards. I did have one issue with the control buttons working on and off , I called apple and they sent me out a box, and returned a new pair all within 7 days, very hassle free. Three of my kids have them and have been using them actively for hands free , riding buses to sports meets, flying etc for years. I typically burn through at least 1 pair of $100.00 headphones per year (plus all the iphone free earbuds), none of those (klipsch, audiofly, ironman-yurbuds, bose) have delivered the quality of sound or construction as these. I don't expect to need to find a new product anytime soon.

      They fall off

So, I bought them 5 hour ago. I tried all the shapes but they fall off. I wouldn't pay 10$ for them...

      Not worth it

I got my first pair of urBeats for Christmas in 2014 and about 7 months after receiving them the left ear bud stopped working. For almost £80 you'd expect these I got my first pair of urBeats for Christmas in 2014 and about 7 months after receiving them the left ear bud stopped working. For almost £80 you'd expect these to work for more than 7 months (and considering how much Beats big themselves up in the media). I contacted Apple and they happily allowed me to return them for a new pair. It was a quick and efficient service but that's not the point, the point is that they should never have broken in the first place. I'm not a rough handler of my urBeats, I'm careful with them so I was surprised to see them breaking already. Now I have my second pair and they have broken today, even this pair have not lasted a year. So I have come to the conclusion that this product is cheaply made and although they give good sound quality this positive aspect of them is very quickly dismissed due to them being fragile and oh-so-easy to break. I'm going to be looking at other brand's for my earphones now - Beats really need to review this product and they need to improve it.

      They don't last!

Had to take them back before the years warranty was up because the sound went in the left ear and came apart from the base. It's now April 2016 and I've had them back from Apple for 4 months and the sound has started to go on the left side again. I don't know whether it's because it's the side with the mic/volume control but whatever the reason it's a disgrace that such an expensive product would last for such a short period of time! My €2 Penneys earphones last longer!! Don't waste your money.
