Useless on OS X El Capitan

    • Written by from Tynong North

I've used this product successfully on previous versions of OS X.
However, because of the fact that it never charges to more than about 75% capacity, it can't cope with El Capitan's Bluetooth extra power requirement problem.

    It is what it is

    • Written by from New York

I can't say I 'hate" the charger, but there are times when it inconveniently disconnects from my iMac's bluetooth. Usually if I just need to move the mouse, and it reconnects; I've noticed that this issue comes in waves. There can be several weeks with no problems and then suddenly it will disconnect/connect several times a day. I've had my Mobee charger with the same Magic Mouse now for 3 years (at least that, but probably more), so I cannot speak to its dying after a year's use.
If the disconnect/connect problem was solved, I'd give if 5 stars.

    The worst product ever

    • Written by from RINGWOOD

Yesterday afternoon I purchased a Mobee Magic Charger for Apple Wireless Mouse and as soon as I got home I replaced it with the Mobee Battery and it was only reading 88% on my Mac since it isn't compatible with Mac at all so I would avoid buying this product all together since it is a complete waste of money.

too short life span for the price

    • Written by from Prague 10 - Strasnice

It is a really nice gadget. If only it lasted longer. At first it was awsome. But after a few months the batteries started to inflate themselves a bit. Not much but it was noticable and you could see and feel a slight bump at the bottom of magic mouse. The recharging frequence changed from weeks to days. Also the bateries started being unreliable. It happened quite often that magic mouse suddenly disconnected several times in a short period even when batteries were fully charged. I had to stop using the product and switch back to regular batteries and the issues have completely stopped. With regular batteries magic mouse is perfectly stable and seldom disconnecting starts happening only when batteries are close to 6% which is understandable. I am sorry to say but I cannot recommend the product unless you plan to use it for a few months only.

    Works as intended

I'm not one for writing a review normally, however there are so many bad reviews that I felt compelled to write something. This product works as advertised and I have been using this every working day for close to two years. The comments about the battery level in other reviews should be read in context with the documentation on the mobee web site. They explain clearly what level should be considered normal. As for comments about the charge duration when in use, well I have never had the battery run out during the day. It gets placed back on charge at the end of the day and away we go again. I guess that is why they give you a charging pad, so you can recharge it.

Most of the negative comments shown are answered on the mobee web site so I would recommend that you read the reviews and then visit the site to get the other side of the story,

Would give five stars but the comments about the battery fit being poor are founded however this does not affect its function.

    Short Lifespan

    • Written by from Lawrenceville

I really loved the Mobee Magic Charger and recommended it frequently. Then just over a year, it died. The battery pack started having issues connecting, then it simply stopped taking a charge. I figured that I may not have been charging it correctly or something, so I bought another one. Just after a year, the exact same thing. And I started hearing from folks that purchased it on my recommendation that they too, had almost the exact same issue. Now I just keep a battery charger loaded with AA batteries next to my desk and swap out as necessary.

Although I really loved the product, until they do some SERIOUS work on the quality of the product, i will not buy again, nor will I recommend it to anyone.

    Works perfectly... until it doesnt

    • Written by from Montreal

Unlike a lot of reviewers, I got 2 years of use from the battery pack until it stopped keeping a charge.
In the beginning the battery was good for a week or more and i did not run into any problems.
Now the battery lasts a day before needing to be charged. So it can be quite frustrating, as i'm using my mouse 8 or more hours per day.

I bought it in a purpose of saving the environment, but the quality of this product not allowed it. The cable they gave, had a connection problem after few month, and after like 1year i had to throw out the other piece, because the batteries inside were dead.

Have to recharge every 30 minutes

    • Written by from LONDON

My office have bought 3 Mobee chargers as being designers we tend to get clicky happy so thought having to buy batteries all the time would be too expensive in the long run. At first they were great then 3 months down the line one of the chargers just kept losing connection and the battery would be dead after an hour of use. Now a year later and all 3 chargers keep losing connection that we have to keep an old wired mouse connected just for when the magic mouse recharges. I usually recharge for about an hour and then start using it again until it dies. But it shouldn't be like this because all 3 are charged fully over night and show 100% when first using it. One hour later they are dead again. 2 were bought at the same time and the third a while after so they aren't from the same batch.

    Works like a charm

I've had this charger for a couple years now and have never experienced any issues. It's been great to not have to swap out batteries. Sometimes it takes me a try or two in order to get the mouse in the right spot to charge but it's not a big deal. And the light turns green when you hit the right spot so you always know right away.

    Would not get this again

    • Written by from NORTH BABYLON

I had some of the same problems as other reviews i read here. It just stops working or getting lock out of my computer because the mouse is not working. Just tonight, I found the docking pad burnt up and damaged. I'm very lucky it did not start a fire. I was not at home when this happened. I wish i could post a photo for everyone to see. Never again will I trust this product. I will take it to an apple store just to show them what happened, but even if they wanted to replace it for free I would not take it. Find something else if you did not buy it yet.

    1. Get excited about product
    2. Spend a reasonable amount of money
    3. Get home and connect to Mac
    4. Get frustrated when it doesn't work
    5. Try several things to get it to work without success.
    6. Along with the Dodgy logitech keyboard for iPad this would have to be one of the biggest disappointments in my Tech buying history.

What a load of rubbish and waste of money. Obviously got the Friday afternoon model..

THE WORST product I have ever bought -

    • Written by from Eldred

Do not waste your money on this piece of #$%^. I am on my second charger in less than one year.... It dies when it is charged at 57% (in my case)... I dont know what type of batteries this company uses but they do not last, no matter what they tell you. At this point, after much frustration and charging on a daily basis, I am seriously thinking about getting a connected mouse. I am just so fed up with this product. And the company does not stand behind it. You can write all you want and nobody will make a move to replace or even contact you back. If I could give a rating of no star, I would.

SO i don't write too many reviews but I use to go thru batteries like crazy! Now with the Mobee i just place it on the pad and it charges away. Awesome product! I would definitley recommend if you go thru batteries on your mouse. Still debating on whether to get the keyboard version

    Fantastic...cannot recommend highly enough

    • Written by from Sarnia

I bought a second one as the first one I had for my MacPro was so good.

I will never have to buy another mouse battery again. No more frustration when the battery runs out mid-urgent-job and I have to go find new ones.

Simply place your mouse on the charging pad when you've finished work, and it'll be ready for another 12 hour day in the morning.

Anyone who says these don't work is just plain wrong. They're fantastic. I've ordered three for work now, and am thinking of replacing my two other wired mouses (mice?) at home for magic mouses (mice?) and Mobees. They're just that good.

Poor Product matches their customer service!

    • Written by from Midland

I purchased 15 of these for my department and have had endless problems, bluetooth connection drops, poor fitting batteries, and to top it off when I contacted Mobee they don't honour their warranty for defective product.

So as a company that promotes themselves as a "green company", there is nothing green about producing product that simply end up in a landfill site.

    Disappointing, to say the least!

    Battery pack poor fit.

    • Written by from Home Hill

I've had my Mobee for about a month. The battery pack was tight at installation but okay. It has since curved downwards resulting in the mouse gliding on the base-plate instead of the runners. Seriously unimpressed with such a basic flaw.
Also, how does one complain to Apple? I guess if you don't provide an avenue for complaint then you won't receive any.

Manufacturing fault - shows up in about 6 months.

    • Written by from Gosport

The unit works well but has a manufacturing fault in that the battery & base plate extend over the black running bars and now after 6 months has resulted in a scraping & wear to baseplate. Mobee are aware of this and have replaced the battery/base plate but this has the same issue. They are working on a fix for this. Shame as a good idea.
