    VGA display port adpt.

    • Written by from Pontefract

This is an excellent little device which works fine in all situations that I have come across with projectors and monitors. Suggestion: why don't Apple make one which is VGA and DVI? That would save carrying two dongles arround.

    Works Perfect

Bought this cable when I was buying my MacBook Pro. It works perfectly with my tv. When I connect it to my Mac, the Mac automatically changes to the correct display resolution for my tv. When I disconnect the cable, it automatically changes back to the correct display resolution for my MacBook Pro screen, very simple indeed

All the negative reviews of this product are from people who bought this cable for the wrong purpose or bought the wrong cable.

    Works for me!

I don't know why so many people are having problems. I have used this cable to successfully connect my unibody MacBook Pro to an Optoma projector and a SAMSUNG 32" LCD television. It is currently connecting my new MacMini to the exact same television as a media centre, without a glitch! And my TV is 2-3 years old, newer ones should work even better!

    Nice !

    • Written by from candiac

It's working well for my 17" proview screen. 40 secs to take it out of the box and make it work. I didn't need to configure it. BUT ATTENTION: for those that have 20" screen or more, It may be better to go with the DVI output because the frequency of refresh is better for bigger screens. And for tv, it might not work with all tv. For example, some Samsung TV dont work properly with it ! But for me: IT'S AWESOME

    It works perfectly

I had purchased a cheap Mini Displayport to VGA adapter knockoff from eBay trying to save a few dollars but it didn't work at all no matter how much I fiddled with it or which monitor I hooked it up to. Even though I was scared of these reviews, I went into Apple the next day and bought this adapter. I hooked it up when I got home and it worked.

    No fuss. No sweat.

Sure I had to pay a little more, but it worked the first time I hooked it up. I don't know what all these other people are writing reviews on - perhaps Apple updated the adapter - but it works now so go out and buy it if you need it.

P.S. I hooked it up to a Sceptre monitor (non-Apple) and a Westinghouse TV... so it does work

    Great DisplayPort to VGA Adapter

As I have found in the past, Apple products always perform excellent right out of the box with fit and function designed to work perfectly.

    Worked Well

    • Written by from Farley Green

Rarely do I bother to write a review, but I bought this after seeing the negative comments (really needed it), but it worked excellently when I used it. In case I did something different, the VGA output was converted using a splitter into a Composite output which was sent to the projectors (not samsung so I don't know whether this would work). On the whole pretty good.

    Works like a charm!

    • Written by from Concord

I almost purchased a wireless DVD player just so I could stream Netflix, Vudu, Hulu, and Itunes movies.....but went in and asked if there was an adapter for our macbooks. I already had the HDMI connector for the Sony Bravia I have. Best $29.00 I've spent this year. For those people who are having trouble setting it up, you may have to adjust your settings to get it to work. My daughter's MacBook Pro set up differently than my MacBook. Hers seemed to sync right away. It took changing my settings to sync with my TV. There just isn't enough hours in the day to watch everything we have access to now!

Perfect for HP L1710 VGA LCD to Mac Pro 5,1

    • Written by from Boulder

My 20-inch Apple Cinema Display plugged right in to the ATI Radeon 5770 Display Card DVI port in my new Mac Pro 5,1 but I needed the MB572Z/A Mini DisplayPort to VGA Adapter to connect my HP L1710 17-inch VGA LCD.

The DP to VGA Adapter works so well that I am seriously considering getting another HP L1710 Display and another MB572Z/A Adapter for a three-display configuration; the Radeon 5770 can handle one DVI display and two VGA displays.

    Perfect!

    Mini DisplayPort to VGA Adapter

Connected from iMac home computer to a HP vp17 display and works perfect! All you do is insert cable into mac and connect display to cable. The imac recognizes without doing anything. Then to select your personal configuration, click the apple on the top of the imac, go to system preferences, go to display and thats it - I hit arrangement and made the monitor on the left because it defaults to the right. Great job apple!

    Excellent

    • Written by from St Austell

I have bought the adapter (Mini DisplayPort to VGA) and tried it with my new MacBook Pro and it works beautifully - I only adjust to "mirror" the screen at Display at system preferences. Apple will never let me down while the other PC let me down during my important presentations as their laptop sometimes freezes, etc.

    Well done Apple!

    Excellent-adapter delivers what it promises

    • Written by from MOUNT PLEASANT

Everything Apple touches is magic, even non-apple products like my sony 17" LCD screen that adapts to my new macbook to mirror the image. Achieving adequate clarity on the larger screen requires patience and you have to accept that, not being apple, it will never be as bright and perfect as on the apple laptop. If you are looking for perfection, forget about adapters. But if you want a piece that connects (in my view) older technology with the newer and better macs, then this is for you.

I've used this to connect my MacBook Air to projectors for presentations and so far the connections have been perfect. Based on the other reviews, I am now concerned that it might not work on some occasions, but no problems yet.

I recently bought a 13.3 inch MacBook (2.4 GHz) and both DVI and VGA adapters. I used this adapter to connect my legacy CRT monitor and use the DVI adapter along with a DVI to HDMI cable to connect it to my Samsung TV, AMAZING quality and resolution.

    Great Product!

    • Written by from hampstead

This works great just like the previous generations. As some reviews pointed out, this will not work on any 30 inch display or greater. That is because there is another product called the "Mini DisplayPort to Dual-Link DVI Adapter". In my opinion it costs way too much, but it doesn't matter because I don't own a 30 inch display!
