    Very stylish

    • Written by from Angwin

Probably the best quality keyboard/cover combination for iPad I've bought. The magnetic strip on the back lets me simply snap it on, then close it up, locking the iPad and putting it to sleep. I highly recommend this if you want a high quality case that fits your iPad's already stylish looks.

    Simply amazing

    • Written by from Port Moody

It goes great with my white iPad (4th Generation). Looks and feels amazing, very easy to type on it, not to mention my typing speed takes off with this keyboard. I use it only when typing emails, for everything else I use the virtual keyboard with a smart case, but well worth the money. My MacBook Air feels neglected.

    Could not live without this!

Featherweight, magnetically attaches, and very easy to type. Holds my iPad landscape or portrait view. Covers the front screen beautifully, and I cannot rate this high enough. Six stars out of five!

    Excellent Keyboard!

    • Written by from Wheaton

I bought the ipad and this logitech keyboard so I did not have to purchase the MacBook. This key board is so easy to carry around and it fits perfectly in a the ipad case protecter! I am very happy with this keyboard and it lasts for up to 6 months when the battery is fully charged! Using the ipad touch screen to write emails is tough for me, but the keyboard gets the job done!

    Great but Bluetooth annoying

    • Written by from Toronto

I am very happy with this keyboard/case - has arrows which I miss on the virtual keyboard. But one has to reconnect it with Bluetooth after a short break - why isn't there an auto-detect? It takes very little time to reconnect but it's annoying. It took me a while to figure out how to open it up, the method in the illustration does not work for me, I still am not sure I'm prying it open correctly. Otherwise, it looks, types and protects beautifully. Just fix the Bluetooth connection please.

    Practical and fun to use

    • Written by from Verdun

I got this keyboard as a gift, and I'm very very pleased. I can switch keyboard mapping easily to type in French. The magnets holding the iPad in landscape mode are strong so I feel confident that my iPad won't fall out even when I'm using a pillow as my lap desk. I most often leave the iPad and keyboard assembled on my credenza for quick easy access. The keyboard wakes up very quickly. For my hands the keyboard is just right. I like it as a case too, I find it's easy to close and the coverage is fine for me. When I put my iPad in my bag for traveling I simply use a bubble-wrap bag to protect the iPad and case from scratches.

There's really only one thing on my wish list : that the keyboard were a bit quieter - it clacks a little, which can be fun but not at night. The other thing I'd wish for is as much stability when I'm using the iPad in portrait mode. The iPad can be placed in portrait mode but obviously there are no magnets in that part of the iPad to hold it in place.

    Sleek and Practical

    • Written by

I needed a keyboard for my iPad while I waited for the new iMac to come out (!!!) and I purchased this one. Sleek, sexy and works like a dream. It is so easy to type on, and the magnets work perfectly. Designed and functions as if it were made by Apple.

    Overall it fails to deliver

    • Written by from Highlands Ranch

When I first saw this in the store, it seemed as though it would be an awesome product. A keyboard that easily separates from the iPad, so that you didn't have to have the bulk and weight of the keyboard with you at all time.

The biggest problem is that it separates from the iPad *way* to easily. As a matter of fact, it barely holds on at all. The magnets are terrible and don't come close to providing proper support for the iPad. I was amazed at how easily it separates, when you least want it to. It will likely end up breaking your heart when your shiny new iPad, takes an unexpected tumble when the two pieces separate.

Other problems with it. Even when attached, it only protects the class front. It offers no protection of any kind for the back, so a film or other form of protection still needs to be purchased.

The bumpers protecting the keys from the class surface are thin and inadequate. Carry the two pieces together, per instructions, I found every time I opened it, my iPad screen had keyboard marks. I believe eventually that this will have a toll on the screen.

Bluetooth battery life is good, but the screen is compact, far more compact than the Apple Bluetooth Keyboard, and key travel not nearly as good. I found this made it difficult to type on.

I returned this product the following morning. I felt it to be a very sub-par product, with only one great feature. The ability to separate the iPad from the cover and dock it in the slot. Everything else about it I found to range from fair to poor. If you are going to leave your iPad docked at all times, you may find it to be an excellent product, otherwise I would suggest looking at alternatives. There are plenty of them out there.

Made my iPad into a laptop!

    • Written by from Chigwell

Since the introduction of the iPad, I have seen a dramatic change in its functionality. With a plethora of productivity apps, it has now become more than a mere tablet and can easily be used for simple content creation. For me, this includes extensive use of dropbox, pages, emails and calendar schedules (and others). As the iPad had increased in functionality, I had been searching for a keyboard for my iPad for a long time, to create a commutable tablet/laptop hybrid.

I was sceptical about this keyboard for a few reasons. 1) The high price, 2) Concerns about the keyboard toppling over(!), 3) The lack of protection on the back of the iPad (the keyboard only covers the screen area). However, the high number of positive reviews encouraged me to finally go ahead with the purchase. My worries were in vain.

I am very satisfied with the keyboard. The product looks very nice in person, clips onto the iPad (3rd gen) fine, and even wakes/sleeps the screen when opening and closing, respectively. There is a fairly strong magnetic groove in which the iPad slots; remarkably, the iPad is held very sturdily. Typing is also comfortable of the chiclet style keyboard, although it is a tad smaller. I cannot recommend this for long essays, but for on the go work (emails, messages, short blogs, etc), it is very convenient, indeed!

I cannot comment on battery life, but Logitech does claim 6 months, with 2 hours of daily usage. Charging is achieved through a mini-usb to usb cable (included), however, I have been using my Kindle charger with this just fine. A cleaning cloth is also included.

There are a few negative points I can mention. The price is very high (I paid almost £90) and construction of the device does feel very slightly sub-par. Don't get me wrong, the device feels and looks fantastic, but for the price, I would expect more. But the keyboard is very thin, displaying a nice feat of engineering.

In conclusion, with it attached to my iPad, I have created a convenient and fully functional, mini mobile laptop. I am very satisfied indeed and can whole-heartedly recommend this device, provided you are prepared to pay the premium.

Great product, well worth the price

The Logitech Ultrathin Keyboard is a great product. I am really pleased with the purchase that I made. Admittedly the price at first was a bit of a put-off but I went ahead anyway and bought it and very pleased that I did. I would recommend it to anyone because the keyboard feels comfortable and doubles as a very sturdy case. One thing I was unsure of was whether it would be compatible with my iPad with Retina Display but it works just as well. With a six month battery when fully charged what could be better??! The only downside some might feel is the thickness of the case as it does add a lot to the iPad. Overall, you should buy it!

    Love it.

    • Written by from New Westminster

I purchased the keyboard after seeing one of the IT guys in my office using it with his IPAD. I like the fact that with the keyboard I can use the IPAD moreso like a Notebook computer. The keyboard is easy to type on and is comparable in touch to my Notebook in that the keys are not too crowded together. I type a lot during the day on a desktop PC and I have no complaints about the Logitech keyboard.

When the keyboard is closed up on the IPAD it looks sleek. I'm not sure how protective it actually is though.

The only downfall I can have noticed is that when using the camera feature it was difficult to hold the keyboard cover in one hand while holding the IPAD in the other hand. Taking photos would be an instance where the more popular neoprene IPAD cover would be better than this one.

For those like me who use their iPad as if it was their laptop

    • Written by from Boston

This is a great product. I type, surf the web, and watch Netflix on my iPad on a daily basis and I needed something that would make it feel like I had a laptop on my lap, or in front of me on a table- this Logitech keyboard fulfills all my needs. I was a bit hesitant at first because of the price tag but I decided to just go for it and I have not been disappointed. If you use and rely on your iPad as if it was your own personal MacBook I recommend that you pick this product up ASAP.

    Faultless - and slick

    • Written by from Houston

A perfect product - not something one runs into very often anymore. Exactly as advertised. Very high quality, looks great, excellent keyboard (I can type several times faster on this than on the virtual keyboard), syncs instantly - and automatically - every time, and takes up no room at all. I've now bought several for my relatives as gifts.

    Logitech Ultrathin Keyboard Cover

    • Written by from Sun Prairie

This is a real nice keyboard and worth the price. Easy to connect, and the Ipad sits in the magnetic slot at the right angle to view the screen. Solid design. The Ipad doesn't shake or anything when typing. Can still use the touch features when the keyboard is connected.

    It scratches the screen!!!

    • Written by from Durham

It works well as a keyboard and all. But instead of protecting the screen, the keyboard scratches the screen when used as a cover. The main problem is where the iPad stand on the keyboard. If you feel that edge of the groove with your finger, it almost cuts your skin. It may just be my keyboard, but caution if you are considering buying.

Not if you plan on using VI or VIM

    • Written by from Dallas

This keyboard is fine, I had a little trouble with it repeating keys too often, and I had to learn to type lighter. I seriously can't imagine why they replaced the ESC key with another home button. I mean, there's a home button right on the iPad, why would I need another on the keyboard at the expense of the single most useful key during text editing with VI / VIM?

Sure you can work around by learning to hit Ctrl-C instead to leave insert mode, but some habits aren't worth breaking for $99. Plus, I need to enter backticks and tilde's on a regular basis since I'm a Linux systems adminstrator. These keys also also require several key presses. This keyboard might work great for a PM or BA, but not the actual Techie.
