How do I become a signed iTunes artist or label?

Apply here. Once you complete the iTunes Store online application, you will receive an email acknowledging receipt of your application and instructions on how to proceed.

How long does the application process take?

We review and consider each application individually and try to respond as quickly as possible. This process can take a matter of weeks.

How do I review the status of my application?

Applicants will receive an email notifying them of their application status once we have reviewed the application.

In what countries will my music be available if my application is accepted?

iTunes Artists and Labels are provided with the option to request contracts for all global regions in which the iTunes Store sells content. Once a contract for a specific global region has been executed, any content that has been delivered to us with Territory Rights within that global region will automatically be made available for sale in that region.

Once I am a signed iTunes content provider, how do I get my royalty report?

Go to the following website and login using your Apple ID and password: https://phobos.apple.com/WebObjects/MZLabel/. Then click on the link called “Royalty Reports”. Your reports should be available on the Label Connect website automatically. A list of monthly reports will be listed. The reports should be available on the Label Connect website automatically. For iTunes content providers, Label Connect is an extranet that provides our content providers with access to iTunes Producer (our proprietary encoding software), discounted hardware, royalty reports and tools to help you manage your content that is live in iTunes Store. Once you are a signed iTunes content provider, you’ll be able to take advantage of the following tools and programmes:

iTunes Producer: iTunes Producer is a free software application that allows you to prepare your music for submission to iTunes. Use it to encode your music into AAC format; enter album, song and artwork information; and send all your prepared files directly to Apple for consideration.

Apple Discounts: As a signed iTunes label, you’re entitled to discounts on Macintosh computers and iPods. Log in to iTunes Label Connect to purchase discounted Apple hardware.
