QuickTime Components

Welcome to the QuickTime third-party component page. With QuickTime’s open architecture, third-party developers can create components, or plug-ins to QuickTime. These third-party components expand the functionality of QuickTime, allowing QuickTime to play additional media types. If you encounter media that requires the installation of a third-party QuickTime component, please follow the link below to the third-party developer’s web site to see if it is available for download.

 

On2’s full-screen, full-motion, TV-quality codec is now available to QuickTime users. As part of the QuickTime component download program, users will automatically receive the On2 VP3 QuickTime Component the first time a VP3-encoded video is requested.

The On2 VP3 QuickTime Component enables encoding with QuickTime Pro, or any other QuickTime-compliant encoding application. For Mac OS and Windows. New OS X version now available.

 

ZyGoVideo’s great looking, smooth playing, web-video codec is now available as part of the QuickTime 5 component download program. ZyGoVideo provides high-quality video at prevalent modem rates (28.8 and 56 kbps). The ZyGoVideo component adds encoding capabilities to QuickTime Pro. For PPC Mac OS and Windows platforms. iPIX provides immersive, 360° by 360° images for real estate, e-commerce, travel and hospitality, and entertainment sites. iPIX immersive images offer viewers the opportunity to navigate a scene on their own terms, looking in any direction, and zooming in and out as they choose. The iPIX component for QuickTime allows playback of these immersive images within QuickTime.

 

The Zoomify QuickTime Component makes Web images stream for fast initial display and on-demand viewing of fine details. Interactively zoom-in and explore gigabyte images, object movies, and even cubic panoramas.  Zoomify streaming requires no special server software.  Encoding is easy with Zoomify’s Authoring Plug-in for Adobe Photoshop.  Component available for Mac OS and Windows. Totally Hip’s Audio Visualizations component allows you to visualize audio in the form of a spectrogram, waveform, or spectrum analyzer.
