Taking inventory used to mean emailing all employees and asking them for the serial numbers on their computers. Then you waited. And waited. And asked again. With Apple Remote Desktop you can run a System Overview report on all your computers, selecting Serial Number from the Computer section. In a matter of minutes, your inventory is done!

Run a report to determine which clients’ software needs to be upgraded

Rather than polling your users to find out which version of each of their applications they’re running, you can run a Software Version report. Identify the clients and the applications you’re interested in, then run the report and wait just a moment to find out which of your clients needs an update. You can then run the update from your admin computer as well.
