iWork Support: Keynote Pages

Exporting Your Slideshow to PowerPoint

To share your presentation with PowerPoint users (on Windows or Mac OS computers), you can create a PowerPoint version of your slideshow, which others can view and edit.

To create a PowerPoint version of your slideshow:
  1. From the File menu, choose Export.
  2. Select PowerPoint and then click Next.
  3. Type a name for the slideshow, select a location for the file, and then click Export.

Since Mac OS X and Windows handle graphics differently, you may notice some slight variations when viewing your slideshow on a Windows computer.

Please note that PowerPoint does not support some Keynote features. For example:

  • Some bulleted text items may be lost when you export a Keynote document to PowerPoint. If you hide the bulleted text on a slide (by deselecting the Body checkbox in the Slide Inspector), it is deleted from the outline when you export.
  • PowerPoint does not support alpha-channel graphics, so if you use a photo cutout frame, the image behind it will appear in front.
