Changing the Theme of Your Slideshow

When you create a new slideshow, you must select a theme for it. You can change a slideshow's theme at any time. To change the theme of your slideshow:

  1. From the File menu, choose Choose Theme and then select a new theme in the Theme Chooser (or click Themes in the toolbar and select a theme).
  2. If you modified some slides and want to incorporate your changes into the new theme, select "Retain changes to theme defaults" (for example, if you made the body text brown and you want it to stay brown in the new theme).
To return a slide to its theme defaults, select the slide and from the Format menu, choose Reapply Master to Slide. If you want to use multiple themes in the same slideshow, you can apply a new theme to only some of the slides.

Applying a New Master to a Slide

When you create a new slide, it has the same master as the slide that was selected when you created it. You can add or remove items from a master slide using the checkboxes in the Appearance pane of the Slide Inspector. You can also change the master on which a slide is based. To change the master for a slide:

  1. Select the slide.
  2. If the Inspector window isn't open, choose Show Inspector from the View menu.
  3. Click the Slide Inspector button, click Appearance, and choose an option from the Master & Layout pop-up menu.
You can also change a slide's master by clicking Masters in the toolbar and then choosing an option.
