Switching to Entourage 2004:
Email Service Provider and other 3rd party email software (such as Outlook Express)

Entourage can be set to check your online email hosted by an external source. (Note: email stored in offline folders must be moved separately. If you have offline folders, please consult your email software’s documentation.)

  1. Open Entourage, click on the Entourage menu and then click on Account Settings.
  2. Click on the “Mail” tab at the upper left, and then hit the “New” button at the top left. Note: if you receive a box that asks you for your account type, hit the “Assist Me” button in the bottom of the box.
  3. Enter in your email address in the area provided and hit the right arrow in the bottom right of the box. If Entourage recognizes your email service provider, you’ll see a confirmation box that this is the case, and after hitting the right arrow button in the bottom right again, another box will ask you to verify your email settings.
  4. If Entourage does not recognize your email service provider, you will need to manually enter in your email settings.
  5. After you have confirmed or entered in your email information as detailed in steps C and D, Entourage will ask if you want to verify your email account settings. To do so, click the “Verify My Settings” button. Otherwise, click the right arrow at the bottom of the box, and then hit the “Skip” button in the following pop-up box.
  6. Complete your email setup by assigning a name and selecting final options for your account. Click “Finish.”
