1 to 1 Learning

One student. One computer. One great way to learn.

It’s about teaching and learning

A 1 to 1 program is about creating a 21st century learning environment that engages students. Students learn better when they are engaged, and research on what engages today’s students points to technology. 1 to 1 learning programs match how today’s students interact and learn.

A 1 to 1 learning program is defined as an environment where students and teachers have 24-hour-a-day, 7-day-a-week access to a notebook computer as well as digital content, educational software, and digital authoring tools.

Why others have implemented a 1 to 1

Districts and schools have their own unique objectives for implementing a 1 to 1 program, but most focus on at least one of these goals:

  • Improving student academic achievement through the use of technology
  • Assuring equity in access to digital resources
  • Promoting economic development by preparing students for today’s workplace
  • Enhancing teaching to transform the quality of instruction

Different roads to a 1 to 1

We know that a MacBook for every student and teacher is an ambitious undertaking. Therefore, we have a variety of paths to get your school started toward 1 to 1 learning.

One popular solution is our Apple Mobile Learning Lab, which is a flexible, convenient, and affordable way to bring mobile technology to your students. Another is to use iPod to encourage mobile learning.
