Apple Extends WebObjects Consulting Group to Design and Publishing Market
MARKHAM, Ontario -- March 17, 1998 -- Apple Computer, Inc. today announced the extension of services by Apple's WebObjects® Consulting Group to one of its core markets design and publishing. Formed around Apple's market-leading web application development platform, WebObjects, this group provides in-depth consulting for companies implementing strategic web-based solutions for database publishing, digital asset management and e-commerce.
"Apple is the first volume computer company to have a publishing consulting services team," said Jeff Martin, senior director of Apple's Design and Publishing Marketing group. "We've seen a major gap in the publishing industry for personalization and customization of print on demand and web content. Apple has filled that gap by providing the right technology, WebObjects, which has become the middleware standard to connect databases to the web and the right internal consulting team to help companies implement compelling solutions for their customers worldwide."
Delivering Results
WebObjects builds on Apple's strength in web content creation by
enabling the seamless collaboration of application developers and web
designers to create dynamic, content-rich end-user experiences for the

Companies such as DDB Needham, World Color, Laser Tech Color and Daniels Printing, who are leaders in a variety of media industries from advertising and broadcast to pre-press, have already successfully deployed WebObjects solutions with the help of the consulting group. British Broadcasting Corporation (BBC) uses WebObjects in the area of asset management; Adobe utilizes WebObjects as their standard to develop dynamic applications on the web; and, Seybold Publishing uses it for dynamic publishing and e-commerce. Seybold Publishing is debuting their dynamic website at the Apple booth #522 during Seybold Seminars NY '98.
