How to Maximize Your Inputs with Aggregate Audio

Recording Your Aggregate Audio Device in GarageBand or Logic Pro.

GarageBand

Step 1: Select Preferences from the GarageBand menu.

Step 2: Click on the Audio/MIDI tab.

Step 3: Set Audio Input to Aggregate Device.

Step 4: Create an audio track. Make sure the Track Info field is displayed. (If not, select Show Track Info from the Track menu.)

Step 5: Set the track input to Channel 1 & 2 (Stereo) and set Monitor to On.

Step 6: Record-enable the track. You should now hear sound from the first device in the Aggregate Audio setup.

Step 7: Create another track. Set its input to Channel 3 & 4 (Stereo) and set Monitor to On.

Step 8: Record-enable the second track. You should now hear sound from the second Aggregate Audio device (assuming the first device only outputs on two tracks, as in our example).

Logic Pro

Step 1: From the Audio Menu, select Audio Hardware and Drivers.

Step 2: Click on the Core Audio tab. Enable Core Audio and set the driver to Aggregate Device.

Step 3: Create a stereo track. Make sure Device is set to Core Audio. Select Input 1-2.

Step 4: Record-enable the track. You should now hear sound from the first device in the Aggregate Audio setup.

Step 5: Create a second stereo track. Set Device to Core Audio and select Input 3-4.

Step 6: Record-enable the second track. You should now hear sound from the second Aggregate Audio device (assuming the first device only outputs two tracks, as in our example).
