Is logic pro x worth the money?

I want to get into film score composing in the future. I need a type of digital software though for my mac laptop. I came across Logic Pro X. Is it worth the money for what I'm wanting to do?

Yes. Logic Pro X is worth much more than they are charging. This is a great program.

  • Yep, every penny worth.
If you are serious about music or even a hobbyist like me.

I'd start with GarageBand first and once you grow out of it, upgrade. Logic can be intimidating at first, if this is your first DAW and you come from GarageBand.
What Logic provides for its price is an incredible value, when you look at other DAW packages of comparable quality.
With Logic, you can download all GarageBand Jam Packs and other instruments, approx 20GB worth of samples and approx 15k loops - this is why I actually got Logic.

Its synths are very good - Sculpture and ES2 are my favorite
ESX24 samples are great too - their Bosendorfer piano samples are decent and I find their orchestra samples very good, when tweaked
There is a rather flexible arpeggiator.
    Effects are very powerful
Drummer is really fun to goof around with and once you substitute its stock acoustic drums with Ultrabeat patches, you can get some insane beats out of this thing...
