    Pretty, Functional, But Wobbles

The good: This thing is pretty. The height is perfect. It frees up some desk surface. Super nice.

The bad: It wobbles. I'm going to play with it a bit, but it seems pretty hard to get this thing to lay flat, and the last thing i want to do is stick an ugly shim under a corner to keep it stable.

The verdict: If i can't stabilize it, I can't keep it.

Pretty product with potential, but doesn't fit together fleshly, wobbles on my desk, and if you try to adjust it will crack. Made in china, plastic...pay the same/a little more for a metal stand.

you can type whilst on this stand.

For several months i have been putting my macbook pro on 3 thick books to raise it up to a more suitable height on my desk. I bought the ghost stand half expecting it would not be stable enough to type into the laptop whilst it is on the stand. I am pleased to say that my macbook is perfectly stable on the stand and i can type without any problems. Whilst on the stand the macbook is inclined at about 5 degrees which feels comfortable. There are no concerns of slippage off the stand. The stand looks amazing. It isn't very hard to put together just follow the simple instructions in the box. Make sure you have the pieces in the right place by judging the insignia's on the pieces.

Wow! This is an amazing product!

I just picked the ghoststand up from the apple store. It fits perfectly on my desk and is set just at the perfect viewing angle! The design really compliments the beauty of the mac itself and just looks sexy overall. It is sturdy and the quality of the materials are impeccable. This is product is really a bargain considering the build quality and design and compared to other stands it really is cheap! I have had no problems with it at all! I recommend it to everyone considering buying the ghost stand!

    The GhostStand is awful

It's cheap. It's wobbly. The strips of silicone on top don't provide any real grip, and your computer will slowly slide off.

Spend the extra few $ for something better

This is a cheap product. I liked the look compared to the other two models the store had. I bought this 4 days ago. Yesterday the rubberized grippers started peeling off. Today I tried to take it apart, opposite of how the instructions say to put it together, so that I can take it back to exchange it for a gift card to buy an mStand online for $15 more. It cracked into multiple pieces while doing that. I hope they will take it back. As a Mac user, I shouldn't feel that way. I pay a premium to use Mac products and shop at the Apple store. I shouldn't have to feel anxiety about whether or not they will take back a subpar product they decided to push. I know its not Apple branded, but they still made the decision to buy it and resell it. Save yourself the hassle and spend the extra $ to buy a better product. DO NOT BUY.

Worst ever. How can they make this and sell it?

This is completely worthless. Your laptop slides right off of it after a few minutes. It inches and creeps till finally it is completely hanging off.

    Stylish and great design !!

Really happy with buying this product, looks great a lot better angle and better cooling already, even when typing my MacBook Pro does not move, only down side is £30 and once erected it's not advised to take apart so could be bulky if transporting, great if stating as a desktop. Will keep updated.

    Good stand

This stand aren't the best built quality you can get from the market or even compare with the other stands from TwelveSouth, they broke when I use heavy force but it still works fine which is why I'm giving it a five star, good for tables that are made with steel to Al, looks really cool from 1-2 meters way, overall, really good

Beautiful stand...but not really suitable for 11" MBA...

I didn't like the idea of my aluminum MBA sitting on metal stands, so when I saw this GhostStand, I thought it would be the right material for it.
Very beautiful design and matches perfectly with my glass desk top. But the problem is... So my MBA is 11". It DOES sit on the stand. But MBA has rounded bottom surface with 4 rubber stands. Those rubber circular stands does not sit on the stand. And because it has rounded surface on the bottom...it means it wobbles.
I use my MBA closed clamshell style but I still have to open and power-on. Trying to open the MBA while sitting on this stand is a huge challenge.

Again, it's a beautiful stand to compliment MBA...perhaps they can come up with different sizes or modification to accommodate each MacBook line...instead of having "one for all"...

This stand is basic, but it is purely beautiful. The packaging is fantastic and high quality, assembly is simple, and now my desk feel like a control centre! I can sit in my chair and get a near perfect ergonomic positioning, which is very important in a desk job! It also looks beautiful either in use or not.

Looks nice but I broke it when I put it together

Similar to another reviewer, one of the pieces cracked when I tried putting it together.

    Sadly it easilly breaks!

Very nice, perfect for traveling. Raises the MacBook to great hight. BUT if you separate the two parts more than twice it breaks. Sad.

    Works and looks Perfect!!

So far so good. I follow the instructions and everything when perfect on the assembly and it sits perfect too. I'm not sure what happened to the other people. Not sliding either (at least no, so far). I have a Mid 2014 Macbook Pro Retina.

    broken after one year

At the beginning, the product was quite good and stable. But after several times of disassembling, one of the two pieces was broken. I used it for one year without disassembling since it was little broken. Finally, this desktop platform was broken into several pieces when i wanted to use it weeks ago.

    Looks good and very ergonomic

I would just point out, though, that you cannot dismantle this stand after assembling it.
Portability would give this stand extra value especially for those who work in different locations and would appreciate a portable stand for their laptops.

    Works great for me

Just received the GhostStand today and it's a perfect fit for my needs.

I wanted to address some issues other reviewers have mentioned, as I think they may be misleading.

Many people have complained about it breaking after disassembling it, but it mentions clearly on the product when you open it that it is not intended to be disassembled and could break if you try to disassemble it. This is a bit of a bummer, as it would be nice to be able to disassemble for travelling, but if you buy it without having disassembly in mind, it should work for you.

Some reviewers mention it breaking upon assembly. I followed the instructions carefully, making sure to angle the pieces in the same orientation that the instructions show and I think that my have helped create less stress in assembly. Twisting the pieces however you want to snap them together may seem harmless, but some angles would require a lot more flex in the product for them to snap together.

Some reviews complained about their MacBook slipping off the stand. Mine grips just fine, and I'm wondering if perhaps they’ve placed the stand on their desk upside down? There is an arrow on the product that you may think is supposed to face up, but that's the Twelve South logo and it's supposed to point down. (It's a number 12 forming a down arrow to symbolize South. Get it?)

The other complaints seemed to be about wobbly MacBook Airs. I could see how that could likely happen, but if you have a 15" Retina MacBook Pro like me, it will sit solidly and wobble-free on this stand.

So it's working great for me, and compared to other options, I find it to be great value. The height is right, as my MacBook's screen is now vertically centered with my Cinema Display (not exactly but pretty close). It also looks great, and another plus for me is that there's room under my laptop for my mouse to travel, which is needed with the tight space I have on my desk and none of the other stands I saw seemed to allow for that.

I have only owned the product for a day, but I'll update this review if I discover any problems. So far I'm very happy with my purchase.
