LOVE this keyboard! No debate, just get it!

I recently started a new design job and had the old "push key" keyboard. Not only were some of the keys sticking but it looked dirty and was impossible to clean! I insisted I get this new one and it was worth asking for! It's sleek, SO very easy to type on — it's like gliding! — quiet and so slim it takes hardly any space. I actually like typing more now!

Only con is that like the MacBook Pro's casing, the anodized aluminum smudges easily, BUT unlike any other keyboard, this one is actually EASY to clean. All you need is a shammy cloth. Then again it looks so darn nice, you won't want it dirty!

    Old School User Immediately Impressed

I've been using Macs since 1985. The tactile feedback on this puppy is my favorite since the very 1st Macintosh keyboard, which we dubbed the typing brick, back in the day. The Apple Extended Keyboard on my Q840AV was a solid piece of work. The Bondi keyboard with the black keys with my G3 450 was an ergonomic disaster. The white, mushy thing with my G5 2x1.6 tower had a terrible feel, and the keys stuck like crazy, littering my typing with double letters. My typing speed became perceptibly slower on it. Not so with the aluminum! I'm flying again! It's everything I could want and I want to get one for my G5 at work! Nice one, Apple!

    Best Keyboard ever.

Some people don't like this new keyboard because it doesn't have enough form to it so they can really feel the keys. But, this has been the best keyboard I've ever used. With other keyboards, including apple's predecessor, I feel like I have to really push down on the keys in order to type. This might sound extremely lazy, but with this new keyboard, I basically just have to touch the keys because it is so thin. It makes for more responsive and faster typing.

    Cleanest Keyboard Ever!

I really love the Keyboard it is very thin which makes it easy to clean if it ever gets dirty. I had one of the old keyboards and when i would go to clean it I would have to take the keys off one by one to make sure the keyboard is nice and clean. The process of that normally took me about an hour to do. With the new keyboard all I need to do is wipe over the keyboard and it is clean. Very comfortable, very easy to clean and maintain, that is the keyboard of my dreams, 2 thumbs up Apple.

Neat and tidy, no more crumbs

Yes a very neat and tidy keyboard. Light to the touch, and a lower profile than the previous incarnation.

This keyboard is not a crumbcatcher.

Spilled soda on keyboard, but it washed up good as new!

Okay, this is somewhat random, but goes as a testament to the quality of this keyboard. Several months ago I spilled a full glass of soda across the entire keyboard. A real nightmare moment. Thinking I had nothing to lose, I washed the keyboard under full running water. I turned it this way and that, making sure I got water to flow under all the keys, etc. After a good drying off, the thing is as good as new and I am still using it! I was sure it would be ruined, but it's absolutely perfect -- a bit cleaner than before!

Great keyboard, especially for Macbook users

My school bought me an iMac(which is awesome in its own right), and naturally I had one of these keyboards come with it... I never liked the old Mac keyboards, I just didn't like them at all, same with the mice. Never liked Apple mice or Apple keyboards, but after using both I now LOVE them. I have a Black Macbook and I love how similar they both are. It's a beautiful design and feels really solid and is very quiet to type with. And its easy, and feels natural to me. I love it so much, I plan on getting another one of these for home when I get my monitor(not Apple, sorry, they're just rip offs). So great keyboard, highly recommended ESPECIALLY for those Macbook/Macbook Air and New Macbook Pro users.

    Great quality keyboard

There has obviously been a lot of thought gone into the design and functionality of this keyboard. The thin, anodised aluminium case makes for a great looking addition to my already silver appliance-ridden desk. The white keys could possibly be prone to some staining, but, from what I've read, this can easily be cleaned off with some alcohol or the like.

Some reviewers complain about the un-adjustable, low profile of the keyboard being ergonomically unsound. However, from an ergonomical standpoint, the flat keyboard is technically a lot better.

The keyboard, although extremely thin, is very high-quality and strong. It has a decent amount of weight to it, and does not flex as you may imagine. This leads me to the conclusion that it has a fairly significant chunk of metal in it!

The keys have a nice, crisp feel, but for someone who likes more of a clicky feel like that of the IBM Model M keyboard, you will probably not appreciate this keyboard. I have been typing on laptops for a while now, and so the transition to this keyboard was natural. Another thing that I thought I'd add: I read in another review that the keys sound like those from a Hollywood movie. They really do! If you can imagine a dude hacking the mainframe of a huge corporation in the latest Hollywood blockbuster, you know what this keyboard sounds like!

Overall, a great keyboard, and definitely worth the slightly, ...shall I say... exorbitant price.

    Very Pleased

As a previous PC user, and only just recently moving over to Mac, I've been really pleased with this keyboard. The build quality is really good, and the hot keys at the top are really useful. Also, the two USB ports are nice to have and make life a bit easier - no more messing about with cables at the back of the computer. All-in-all, a very good and comfortable keyboard that seems to be built to last.

    Best Keyboard ever?

I got one of these a few weeks ago with an Aluminium iMac.
I'm about to buy one for my girlfriend's PC.
I was concerned that it would feel flimsy and not be good to type on but needn't have been; it's wonderful for touch typing and is manufactured to a high quality.
The keyboard works fine with OS X, Windows XP/Vista and Linux, but in Windows some of the keys had to be re-mapped; in Linux I just selected the Mac keyboard layout and everything was fine.
I have the GB layout which is very similar to the US layout.
What don't I like about it?
The # key is Alt + 3, the Esc and ctrl keys don't have the symbols on them to correspond with the symbols in the OS X menus.

That's it. I'm very fussy about keyboards to the point where I was going to have one custom made at great expense, but this is as close to perfect as a keyboard ever has been.

    Another great product

The Apple Keyboard, while at $50 is a little more than you'd expect to pay for a keyboard, is one of the best keyboards I've ever used. It's quiet but has great key response. On top of that, it LOOKS good. The aesthetic quality is what puts already superior Apple products of the top.

best keyboard i have ever used

This is a 5***** product and it works on WINDOWS!!.For £29 you cant ask for more. it has a very nice feel to the keys. they are easy to press and are not to close together making misstypes a thing of the past. my typing speed has increased when using this keyboard because it is so easy to navigate around it. A great product and well worth the money, ultra slim and they mean it. i would recoomend it if you lack desk space. although i think the mouse apple make is a bit..... clunkey. i would reccomend this keyboard to anyone.

    Best Keyboard ever

We had the old keyboard from the first Intel iMac, and the buttons consistently stuck. Rather than buying a new iMac, I know what a horrible reason to do so, we bought a new keyboard. This thing is perfect for email, documents, and world of warcraft.

    Great Customer Service

I called in after finding that my keyboard had been bent up a little bit in the mail (probably just due to heat), and the guy was like, "Okay, we'll just send you another one." He got my information, and another one is on its way.

I love these keyboards, and now I'm a fan of their customer support, too.

    Never thought...

Never thought that I would come across a keyboard that I would like better than the good old trusted IBM model M keyboard. That model M was very sturdy and had a good feel to it. And my typing speed was higher than on other keyboards.

This Apple keyboard is a lot more slender while not giving the impression that you have got something under your fingers that will easily break. And while I can imagine that some may not like the new keys, I suspect that I will leave my old M-based speed records behind me in a couple of days.

Ergonomically this keyboard also suits me very well. I can easily type with my wrists in the same position as I play piano or synth. For me, a joy to type on.
