A pleasure to use.. worth every penny!

Nice piece of art!..very thin...i mean really thin. Very well built, if you have a macbook, or macbook pro, this item has the exact spaces, shape and look of your laptop's keyboard, except for the arrows and numbers.
The 2 USB ports on each side, makes it even more useful. So you will not compromise losing one usb port for the keyboard, cause you will get 2 with it!
    100% Recommended.

    A big surprise.

Keyboards are fairly personal items, and what I like others may not. I was use to a keyboard with standard-type key structure and feel, so when I took a look at this slab of aluminum with flat, chicklet keys, I said a silent, "oh oh". Within 5 minutes of using it, my "oh oh" became "wow!"

For me, the test of any keyboard is how well I can type on it. There is no doubt that I type much, much faster with far less mistakes than I did on any keyboard previous to this one. It's almost effortless, and I do a tremendous amount of writing.

There is only one thing I found that was a minor annoyance. I find that the USB ports are much harder to get to than on the older standard-type Apple keyboards. I sometimes pop in a flash drive, but to do so regularly is cumbersome (I need to pick up the keyboard and turn it over to accomplish this simple task). This really isn't a big deal, but I thought I'd mention it. And since I've added a USB hub, I now only use the keyboard USB ports for the mouse.

    Amzing Product - 100 pros, 2 cons

Amazing keyboard, works perfectly with everythng, even in windows, it's so easy and feels so nice to type with this keyboard compared to common keyboards. Seriously there's no better keyboard in the world.

    However there are 2 cons,

    1) There's not a Wireless version of a keyboard with numbad like this one

    2) The USB power doesn't support many USB devices that don't have a DC current adaptor.

Since Electronics is my area of expertice, I know this is a hard issue to solve without have to, you know, plug the keyboard in a wall or waste 2 USB ports in the computer because there's not enough Watts in the +vcc and -vcc built in a USB port to support 3 unpowered devices that consume a lot of energy, but I don't know, either just make one built-in USB port that works with the majority of the devices or make USB port in the Macs with a higher current capacity.

Works great w/ Late 2008 Macbook

This wired keyboard works great with my Late 2008 Macbook. Plugged it in and was immediately able to use it; no problems whatsoever.

I was even able to charge/sync my 2nd Gen iPod Touch with the USB ports on the keyboard. Before buying this, I had read reviews of people having issues with that. Works with mine with no problems.

I went back and forth between the wired and the bluetooth keyboard, before finally buying this. I'd recommend this is any Macbook/Pro/Air user. If you aren't planning on projecting the screen image onto a screen that is far away (TV?) then the bluetooth keyboard isn't worth the extra money IMO. Especially since the wired keyboard has a number pad.

There are better keyboards for less.

I have been a touch typist for over 25 years. My Mom has been a touch typist for over 50 years. We both agree -- the keys on this new model have no natural weight to them and this causes us to make more errors.

Apple, please bring back the previous model with normal sized keys and spring tension. That was an excellent, inexpensive keyboard.

    superb

a great keyboard. i wish they made the full size model wireless, but its still great. This slim profile makes it easily portable and easy on the wrists. The laptop-like keys are quiet, and the labeled function keys make using dashboard and expose a whole lot easier. well done, apple. one warning i will give: if you're banking on the usb ports to use an external hard drive or jumpdrive, think again. the keyboard doesn't have enough power running through it, so you can only use devices that have a power source of their own (like a digital camera or printer.)

    A Must Have

I know this my sound Odd. But I like the feel of a Laptop keyboard with that medium drop and nice reflex back.

The sound is great and there is no mushy feeling at all. You KNOW when you hit a key. I type faster on this than any other keyboard I have ever used.

My NEW Mac Pro came with the old one (I hated) and they told me it would have this. I went back to Apple store and they did the right thing. I felt like a 6 year old... I was so happy.

Everyone that sees it in my office is soooo jealous!

    Winner!

Looks nice but order the right one.

Still making my mind up. Like any keyboard it probably will take a bit of getting used to. Looks very nice though. USB 2 on the port is nice so I can plug my Shuffle and Elgato turbo.264 in without reaching around the back of my iMac. Both work fine from the keyboard - no low power issues. If you are from the UK order the English keyboard not the English International. I'm so used to English meaning American and English International being for everyone else I ordered the wrong one. I know where my £ key is anyway which seems to be the only difference. Wish they'd call it a British keyboard (sorry Northern Ireland).

    Failure Rate

Granted we are protools operators that use the keyboards daily, however I'm looking at a pile of keyboards in my office. I've had over 10 of these die within 3 years. The previous models have lasted 3 time as long. What gives Apple?

    Great keyboard but flawed.

The keyboard itself is brilliant- a great size and very nice to type on. However, the cable is too short and the USB ports on the back are NOT a real USB hub. You can only really use a low-power device like a mouse with it and usually only one at a time.

    5 Stars for Style...

...but minus 2 for not having a wireless keyboard WITH numeric keypad. It's kind of a given that this is what would satisfy the majority of users.

    Fantastic product with £ key!

This keyboard it just fantastic. It is beautifully designed and MUCH better than my old white heavy 'clacky' keyboard. Typing is now a pleasure rather than a chore. Delivery was super fast.

Contrary to other reviews I can confirm that my keyboard does have a '£' key. However, make sure you order the United Kingdom version and not the International English version. There's a drop down list on the right hand side of the page where you can make your choice.

    Awesome!!!! Just love it

Sleek in design, really nice. Only if they made the keys in silver as-well.. white tends to get dirty fast.

Amazingly low profile and very smooth

I love the 1/4 press keys and the ease of use, and I have had it for more than a year and still love it. I type at least 12 pages a day on this aluminum keyboard and i have never experienced any cramping and my tendinitis never flares up. I find myself wanting to take it to work because the win pc's that we have at work still use the full key bulky keyboards and I'm always getting cramps and my tendinitis is killing me.

Until mac comes out with a keyboard that improves on this one i will never switch back.

I've been using this keyboard for just under 2 years and I've never had any problems. It's a great design ... very easy to use and very comfortable.

    Was loving it until...

Although it looks great, I was against this keyboard for a long time. I picked one up anyways and once I got used to it I fell in love with it. However, after only 4 months it started going haywire and causing glitches in programs before completely shutting down. I thought it was my iMac that was dying because I couldn't see how a keyboard could cause so many frightening problems (screen flashes, apps randomly opening and closing, full freezing...). Thankfully, I switched back to the old white plastic keyboard and everything worked fine. Needless to say, I am taking this back. Hopefully, I can find the receipt and swap it out. I am on the fence about replacing it otherwise. Maybe I just got a bunk one. In any case, I am disappointed.

Great for Loads of Data Input

I'm a therapist and I have to write so many progress notes, I swear I spend more time with my keyboard than I do with my actual clients! Literally, I spend nearly 3-4 hours a day typing. I bought this keyboard spur-of-the-moment after getting tired of my old keyboard's buttons sticking, and having to pound them to get each letter on the screen. This was the best instantaneous purchase I've ever made. The low-set keys require much less finger-lift and barely any pressure at all. I'm not really pushing the keys, but simply allowing my fingers to fall on the key pads. Had I know this would have made my typing so much easier and quicker, I would have bought it the day it came out. The 'complaints' about this keyboard in other reviews are technical and extraneous. If you're looking for something that makes typing a breeze, then this is definitely it.

LOVE this keyboard! No debate, just get it!

I recently started a new design job and had the old "push key" keyboard. Not only were some of the keys sticking but it looked dirty and was impossible to clean! I insisted I get this new one and it was worth asking for! It's sleek, SO very easy to type on — it's like gliding! — quiet and so slim it takes hardly any space. I actually like typing more now!

Only con is that like the MacBook Pro's casing, the anodized aluminum smudges easily, BUT unlike any other keyboard, this one is actually EASY to clean. All you need is a shammy cloth. Then again it looks so darn nice, you won't want it dirty!

    I want it BLACK!!!

Why don't you plan to make a BLACK Apple Keyboard?

This is one of the most astounding keyboards on the planet, great feeling, amazing typing speed. But the white version becomes quickly dirty, a BLACK version would be a great improvement, a great look for sure!!!

Make a black keyboard, please!!! :-)
