Just rec'd this keyboard today. I'm using it with a PC running WinXP, SP3. Perfection right out of the box! I absolutely love everything about it!

NICE AND MODERN KEYBOARD BUT THE USB PORTS ARE NOT WHAT THEY SEEM

Excellent keyboard, the keys have great and crisp feel,it has great design, but one of the reasons i bought this product was because apple told us it has 2 2.0 usb built in ports so i can plug in any device i want.
You simply can´t plug any usb flash drive or an ipod, because the system tells you that the usb ports are low powered.
So that´s a big disappointment for me, other than that, it´s all good!!

    Old vs. New

I like having the numbers on the right like I am use to. I am, however, having trouble getting used to the keyboard itself. It is so sensitive and very easy to hit the wrong key although I am proficient at typing on the "old style" keyboards. But, since this is what comes with it, I shall prevail.

20 years of programming, my favorite so far

I wouldn't mind a wireless version with the extended key set, but wired is fine for me. Also, some may prefer a keyboard that works a little better with wrist supports. For me, however, this is the finest keyboard I've used so far. The keys feel solid and respond excellently, it's quiet, and minimally designed. No extra junk keys plastered about, no bright LEDs, no software drivers or configuration, just a great feeling keyboard!

    style and function

I truly enjoy this keyboard but after a few months the "6^" key went nuts and randomly types sixes. The key "7&" has failed. I can't attest to the quality of this product as I can to my other Apple products. I don't have an Apple store locally and our Apple products seller here only warrants for 10 days. Maybe you'll have better luck than I did.

Wireless with Numeric would be better...

This is a great keyboard, it is beautiful and sleek-looking, but works really well also. The function keys are very useful, and since it is an Apple Keyboard I know I can expect the best from it. The USB ports on it are handy as well. However, I wish it was Wireless. The only thing that kept me from buying the Wireless Keyboard is that it doesn't have a Numeric Keyboard, which I use very often. But overall this is a great keyboard, it is thin and durable, and I love it. This is a good buy for anyone with a Mac, but if you don't need the Numeric Keypad I suggest buying without it to save the money. The Bluetooth Keyboard is the best way to go in my opinion if you don't need the Numeric Keypad and your Mac is Bluetooth-enabled.

    Amazing Keyboard!

This keyboard is a great addition to anyone Mac or PC. I use this keyboard with my macbook pro 15" when I am at home at the desk. The full layout and number keypad are the best! I use iWork software a lot and the keyboard is a breeze to type on. It is so compact and it makes my desk look a lot nicer to! The USB ports on the sides power my mouse and will charge and sync my iPod Touch. The wireless keyboard can't do that because it is battery powered! 5 Stars for an amazing, compact, and large keys!

    Great Keyboard!

This is a great keyboard. I am able to plug an external hard drive into the USB port on the keyboard and my MacBook recognizes the hard drive. Very high-powered. Keys are crisp and responsive... the only con is that it's so light that it slides around my desk.

    Great for my Purpose!

OK, I really just wanted a Numeric Keypad for my 15" MacBook Pro. At $49 I thought the full keyboard might be appropriate. I had a Targa USB from an old LapTop that didn't operate correctly. When I got this keyboard I was pleasantly surprised. It has two Hi Speed USB ports on either side, and since it's tucked out of site on either side of the keyboard. Apple even included an extension cable if you wanted to plug something in that couldn't be tucked tight under the keyboard. Everything feels quality. The finish matches my macbook pro exactly, and I can rest it directly over my keyboard and still access my touch pad.

    Great keyboard

Excellent feel, light touch, lovely design. What more is there to say? This is the first time in half a decade that I haven't missed my ancient full-size Apple ADB keyboard.

    Great Keyboard

This is a VERY nice keyboard. I got it with my mac (instead of the wireless one) and I have no complaints! It's light, quiet, and has a nice feel. Compared to other keyboards out there, it's very sleek and simple. It may not have all the extra buttons, but it makes up for it! It may be one of the bigger apple keyboards, but next to a PC keyboard, it looks pretty thin. I've had a key fall off, but that was my own fault, and I'm getting it replaced. I definitely recommend this keyboard!

    Absolutely fantastic keyboard

Being a writer my keyboard gets a lot of use, in fact the only reason I needed a new keyboard was due to the fact that I had worn the letters off my brand name keyboard that cost as much as the apple.
Wearing the letters off is not a problem for me, but for my wife, it is a big problem.
So I decided to order this keyboard and I can not tell you how happy I am. It has taken only a couple days to get used to it and now I would never giver it up.

The feel of the keys is wonderful. Very responsive. They do not feel "touchy" nor do they require a lot of force. The feel of the flat surface of the key is a bit different and they feel smooth and pleasant.

I am a rather fast typer and I find that with this key board I am typing faster and lighter than I have ever been able to do before.

So in short, this is a fantastic keyboard. It looks and feels great. I could not ask for more.

    I bent my keyboard

After some heavy use and the occasional fist slam due to hitting too many wrong keys, i bent the aluminum frame of my new iMac keyboard. I managed to twist it back somewhat into shape, but it still wobbles against the my desk surface as I type. I now have to rest it on a mouse pad to absorb the shaking. Let this be a warning, even for those who are calmer typists. The slightest irregularity of your desktop surface will result in a wobbly keyboard which is exacerbated by its artsy design. Extended, albeit normal use, might cause the same. Another example where aesthetics overrules practicality. Perhaps larger rubber feet should be attached to the next generation of this device.

    love it or hate it

This keyboard came with my iMac I purchased a year and a half ago. At first I was taken aback by the typing feel, but after a day or two, I couldn't go back to my split, ergonomically correct PC keyboard. I type quickly and accurately and love the feel. The USB ports are a little unhandy, but a hub fixed that. That was the only drawback that I could think of. As far as getting sticky keys if something is spilled on it, well jeezo-pete, it is a keyboard. I have a bad habit of eating at the computer and try to be careful about crumbs and sticky stuff finding its way to my keyboard. I never type on my lap because a cat frequently occupies that spot. So I find typing at the computer desk very comfortable and efficient. Keyboards and mice are very personal, and just because I love this one, you may not. If you can, try it out first.

    Rubbish!

1 the usb ports are so pathetic nothing works on them so you will have to buy a usb hub at the same time. What is this about? What century was this keyboard built in?

2 The keys require more effort to press than the old keyboard. There is a pressure barrier to go through before the key will press.

3 They's altered the layout, yet again, and the return key is pathetically small.

    Shame on you Apple.

Classic case of Apple Style over function

    No power, No glory!

I just bought this keyboard and I cannot use the spare USB port for either my iPhone or my flash drive. No power for either! My old keyboard (came with my 20" iMac) at least was capable of supporting my flash drive. A $50 keyboard should be able to do it all! I am very disappointed in Apple! Are you listening Steve?
