    Very Good Mouse!

    • Written by from New York

I read all the reviews and was thinking of not buying this mouse but while in the Apple Store I decided to try it. You can return it within 14 days not questions asked. It is a good product. It feels good in your hand and is quick and responsive. Once you get used to it you'll love it. I have no bad things to say about this mouse.

Give it a try and you'll be happy with it.

Do not listen to the poor reviews, this mouse is fantastic.

    • Written by from Burford

I had reservations about buying the mouse due to the poor reviews, but I cannot understand where people are coming from. The battery is fine and does not run out fast, if you are not using it, turn it off! Secondly, the gesture commands are easy to get to grips with and I was using it fine instantly. With the right hand click and the multiple gestures available, it navigates on the mac extremely easily. Certainly worth a buy, although the only thing that I would have liked to have seen as an improvement is the zoom feature, you can zoom in on web pages using a gesture, but it only works on web pages, therefore it would be good if I could use the gesture to zoom in on Microsoft Word and Pages for example. Other wise, I think that the mouse is very good!

Beautiful slickness, but frustatingly spotty performance

    • Written by from Stamford

It's too sensitive, does what it wants. Using CAD or other graphics, it is most unprecise pointing device ever. Spotty, jumpy. Battery hungry as well. After almost one year of using it, I've had it. I'm looking for an alternative. Given the poor reviews on wired apple mouse. I am dissapointed to have to look elsewhere. Nice to make it pretty, but Apple, please make it work!

First mouse to hurt my hand in 15 years

I couldn't keep using this mouse it hurts my hand very much. I changed to other brand and now the pain is slowly going away. I wish I could leave just grey stars in the rating.

    Poor quality

    • Written by from Maggie Valley

I've had this mouse for 2 years. I seldom use it but bought it to compliment the Bluetooth keyboard. It worked ok but I did get annoyed with the gestures. My problem with it is that it stopped working. It connects but will not move the cursor. I took it to the Apple Store and they wouldn't even look at it. Their solution? Buy a new one. They don't repair them only replace them. For $70 I expect it to last longer than 24 months of light use. I usually have good luck with Apple products but not this one. Basically you're just paying for the looks and the logo. Very disappointed. I'll be looking elsewhere for a replacement.

Mobe Magic charger is solution to battery and disconnection issue.

    • Written by from Lachine

I like the mouse but like everyone else, the battery connection and resulting dropped connection drives me crazy! I have however found a perfect solution and it is the Mobe Magic charger.

Yes it cost $40, but it is a small price to pay and you always have a fully charged mouse. The reason it works is the battery and bottom plate as integrated and rigid, so there is no movement despite a little rough treatment.

Note, even when the mouse is fully charged, it will only show 86% on the battery status. This is because rechargeable batteries have a lower voltage, usually 1.2v instead of 1.5v.

Anyway, I have no more problems since using it.

    substandard product

    • Written by from Shune De

Yep, after reading the stellar reviews

got the mouse, the second time I have been stupid enough to do this, obviously changed the battery contact design material, as the mouse KEEPS disconnecting and going dead every time it experiences slight vibration

Battery connection design so bad it does not break any oxide layers on the battery contacts, who in their right mind makes a completely FLAT battery contact?

Purchased this product today, first impression is how beautiful this mouse is ! It's unique looks and smooth multi touch gestures makes it the best mouse I've used to far, perfect quality and DPI sensor, which can be calibrated. One of the key things about this month is how thin and portable this mouse is, as portability for me is one of the key requirements, this Apple product is another hardware masterpiece !

Do not buy!! Take Magic Trackpad

    • Written by from New York

Unpredictable, annoying mouse; changes safari pages by its self, do not mark properly, probably too sensitive. As of now the worst purchase at Apple (but the first one, other products are fine so long). The previous mouse was a way better.
    Take Magic Trackpad instead!!

    Doesn't Handle Gestures Well

    • Written by from Santa Monica

I love this mouse except for an important flaw that even the Apple Store admits is a problem: After a few seconds of inactivity, mouse gestures stop working, requiring you to move the mouse around to get it to "wake up" again.

I love the two-finger swipe to move through my virtual desktops (Spaces) as well as the two-finger double tap to view all my spaces at once. Unfortunately, if I've been typing on the keyboard for more than about 10 seconds, those gestures fail to register when I switch back to the mouse. Instead, I have to repeatedly try the gesture, click on the page I'm on or move the mouse around the screen for it to finally recognize gestures again. I don't know why the mouse continues to register movement and clicking, but stops recognizing gestures but it's highly annoying and reduces productivity. My dad's identical mouse has the same issues so I know it's not specific to mine.

So there you have it. One of the main reasons to buy this mouse becomes it's main liability.

The most annoying mouse on the planet.

    • Written by from pinole

I'm sorry I usually love apple products but this mouse came with my new iMac and I have to say for a graphic designer & video editor this is the worst purchase you could make. I have been forcing myself to try and adjust for the last month to using it and I just can't! There's one too many multitouch gestures/functions on the mouse and with the slightest touch they randomly become active. I have the worst time with drop down menus it randomly throws my web browser into "zoom" mode. And it took me forever to find out how to activate right click which to me should be a standard setting already applied to any mouse. The design of the mouse itself looks lovely. But feels terrible and bulky in your hand. The edges are not smooth. To be honest it feels like your holding a piece of raw edged plexiglass and even for a girl I have long fingers and the mouse doesn't fit into my hand the way i'd like it to. if this didnt come with my iMac I would be bringing it right back to ya'll I can't image someone purchasing this on it's own and being happy with it.

    terrible mouse

This could be the worst thing apple have ever created. Terrible mouse that doesn't work with most professional software, works well with the usual Mac teenager tools and apps.

    Won't Stay Connected

    • Written by from Los Alamos

I've owned this mouse (and charger) now for almost two years, and aside from a few quirks have been generally pleased with its convenience and performance. I use it with my MacBook Pro when it sits in its desktop stand. Now, over the past few weeks, the mouse will not maintain its connection with the laptop. It loses the connection at least once every minute and usually more often. Sometimes in reconnects; sometimes it just won't reconnect. My Mac maintains other bluetooth connections without difficulty. The problem is solely with the Magic Mouse. I would not recommend this product. The 'Magic' is gone!

Bad material. It scratch very easily

    • Written by from Sunrise

The mouse is great, but the material on top is terrible. I had a couple of scratches just two weeks after I bought the mouse. I don't have children, and I just use my mouse at home. I went to the Apple in Square One in Mississauga (where I bought It) and the person said: its not a malfunction, its a cosmetic problem, and we don't replace the mouse. How can a weakness in the material be a cosmetic thing? I research in Internet and I am not the only one with that problem.
