    Fixes all wifi issues

I love this device. We have been Apple fans for so long, I can't believe we overlooked this product. We have had constant wifi issues with nearly 20 clients on our third party access point/router. I have been told by reputable authorities that too many clients can be difficult for a consumer wifi access point. Using the same router, turning off it's wifi, and using the Apple Extreme has solved all problems. I can now get great wifi in parts of the house which were previously dead. And speeds have improved everywhere else. This product is the most overlooked product on Apple's whole product line. IT IS AWESOME!

    worth the extra $

After some concern about the high price I bought this unit to replace my Linksys EA4500. The ea4500 was considered a great router but we never got good coverage and the speeds were not great. I must have spent 10 hours over the last while playing with settings and turing things on and off trying to get this thing to work as advertised. As usual, you get what you pay for! The Extreme was up and running in 5 minutes, coverage was spectacular and we were finally getting the speeds we pay for (Cogeco). Our family has 4 iphones, 3 macbooks and a few ipads. File sharing is now a (simple) reality with this great little device. Buy this if you want a router that works as advertised, especially if you are a mac household.

    Superb!!

In my naivety, I just assumed for years that the home hub 3 router supplied by BT for BT infinity would be the perfect match to deliver the best performance for my wifi. God knows we pay enough for the service. However, recently the wifi has been very erratic with dropouts and really slow speeds. I just assumed that I needed to tweak channels and settings. Anyway, to cut a long story short, I did a bit of research and opted for the Airport extreme as we run loads of Apple products. Low and behold, as all the other reviews say, set up is so simple it took less than 5 minutes and my wifi speed is now a constant 37mbps. a good 50% better than anything the home hub 3 had ever given and so far no drop outs. Definitely worth every penny and stylish too.

    Blazing fast!!

I have been using Comcast as my ISP and was using router provided by it until now. However despite a good internet package I was never able to get stable and decent internet speeds. After fair amount of research I decided to invest in AirPort Extreme. There are many routers I considered before going for Extreme and the primary reasons were ease of setup, security, speed and of course the looks. I have to agree AirPort Extreme has all the qualities as mentioned on the company's website but the quality which stands out the most is the stable and blazing fast connection it provides. The only hiccup I had while setting it up was related to the Comcast router where I had to call the customer support to disable the wifi on the existing router, otherwise the setup was a breeze. Many would argue that there are better routers which provide more functions and customization but how many of us actually need those functions. I wanted a hassle free router and that's exactly what AirPort Extreme is all about.

    Replace BT HUB

Was have problems with poor signal strength, coverage and drop out with my BT 5 hub, I had tried everything to try and fix this replacing the face plate new patch leads etc still no improvements. Purchased this on Fri after checking it out on the online reviews as one of the top ten routers checked some issues with the online chat service to confirm this was the right item for me. It arrived the next day, took about 10 minutes to set up including installing my old BT DSL modem (the white box). Coverage is great, signal strength is improved and speed is slightly faster, but the main improvements is all my devices can be online at the same time including down loading with no issues. I have only set it up for the 2.4GHz wi-fi and this works great for my requirements. I am going to get an Apple Express next to extend the wi-fi signal to my garage and garden next.

Simple to set up and fast.

Upgraded my wireless router from an older Linksys to the new Airport Extreme.
Set up was so easy: just plugged in the WLAN cable, power up, and I configured using my iPhone, and very soon am up and running on all my IOS devices and Macbook Pro. And now I have almost three times the previous download speed.
PLUS, it looks so good sitting on th stop of my TV console!
    Stress-free and happy!

    Works great

Another 5 star review. Mine is a refurbished unit and worked great. It appeared new as any product, with the plastic cling wrap and typical packaging. This replaced my previously rented B/G wireless router from Verizon, which worked fine but lacked N and AC speeds. My new ISP (Charter) would provide a wireless access point but they charge $5 a month, so I was using the Verizon unit. The Airport Extreme connected to the Charter provided router and worked perfect out of the box. Mine does not have the hard drive (don't think I need it) so I can't comment there. I run a Roku 4, an iPad Air, iPhone 6, and my PC is on wireless as well and all connect and run at provided speeds - about 65 Mb/s down and 5 up. The furthest point I use the equipment is roughly 50 feet and the signal is strong through a standard wood frame single story. The $5 I save per month pays the refurbished unit off in about 2 years and I think is well worth it vs the rented unit. The refurb is a excellent value and offers the same warranty as a new one, so if you have the opportunity to get one, it's a good deal.

    Extending network

While our house is not that big, the primary Airport Extreme signal was intermitant at the other end and up stairs. The signal was not consistant because of a 24" stone wall in the middle of the house.
Got a second Extreme since I figured it would be most compatible and easier to hook up.
Very good idea.....to get the network set up and the two talking......took less than a minute.......max strength signal now upstairs!!

Immediate imrpvement to Wifi in our house

Absolute gem! Immediate improvement to speeds throughout the house from the Virgin Media Super Hub we have been using for a few years. Switched the super hub into modem mode and had this up and running in 5 mins. Really, really pleased with the results!

Easy setup and it just works!

Got it from the Highpoint Apple Store (Melbourne, Australia) this morning. I'm on FTTH NBN service with Belong (Telstra) and the setup took less than 5 minutes! Couldn't get any easier than that. My only wish is for Apple to release a version with 4th Ethernet port and USB 3.0 port - but I can live with this for now. :)

    Its Magic

AirPort extreme is simply amazing, Setup process is equivalent to plug and play. No complications in setup, a decor item at my home which now made it possible to use full potential of my network.
Its just magical experience using AirPort extreme.

Awesome product - solved all my network problems!

Apple, I salute you! I used to have a Virgin Media Super Hub-2, which is the most god-awful piece of hardware that has even been designed. My internet used to drop 3-4 times a day, and each time I would have to manually reset the Virgin Media Hub. I read some blogs and saw people were recommending to put the Virgin Media Hub in to modem only mode, and then buy an Apple AirPort Extreme to do the clever stuff.

I can tell you, the results have been transformative! Since install, I've not had a single Internet drop (installed 2 months ago), my speeds have doubled (I have 150 Mbps, but only used get around 70 Mbps) and coverage has improved throughout the house. I highly recommend this product - worth every penny and then some.

    Thank you, Apple!

    IT. JUST. WORKS.

I was blown away by how easy it was to setup! You simply plug in your ethernet and power cables, launch AirPort Utility, choose a name and password for your network and you're done!

I had many connectivity issues with my Bose SoundTouch 20, but with the AirPort Extreme, things are working flawlessly.

    Wi-Fi Nailed

I have owned & spent more on routers and WiFi access point than anybody I know. With Cisco qualifications under my belt, I don't want to waste time at home in the weekends worrying about about overly unnecessarily complicated technology junk.
I have owned commercial, D-Link, Netgear, Draytek routers costing twice as much as these thinking this is the way to avoid disapointment with; poor heat dissipation, reliability and more UI & Firmware bugs you can shake a stick at. Apples $198B cash pile means no shortage of research, design & development, not to mention the all important test. Any review in here negative which bangs on about complex features that 1% needs is either a painful nerd or simply an android geeking banging their drum. New house build meant 3 of these working in a mesh trouble free networking within 10 mins. Yes they are more expensive than some but if you value your time and lower blood pressure its a no brianer

Awesome Router. My Xbox live does not drop out anymore!

I had recently upgraded my ISP plan with OPTUS and was provided a Netgear CG3000v2 modem router. That free issue router was fine for general surfing etc, but had caused massive amounts of Xbox drop outs where online gaming such as World of Tanks was I near impossible.
I decided to get an AirPort Extreme and change that useless CG3000v2 into bridge mode. As I already have iMac and iPads iPhones and iPods between family members the setup was a breeze using the iMac. I also had an Aiport express lying around and now using it as a wifi extender. Absolute brilliant network. All family members have noticed a huge increase in network speeds for file transfers within the home and surfing.
Apparently there are plenty of people saying the CG3000v2 supplied by the ISP OPTUS is a very restricted one when it comes to IP forwarding etc. Save yourselves the headache dealing with CG3000v2 issues change it to bridge mode and get one of these Airport Extremes!! We are loving it.

    Excellent

Used to replace our Infinity Home Hub 3 so the BT modem now connects to the WAN port on this instead. Great result, no more loss of network that was dropping several times a day, and no more spending hours on the phone to BT in India trying to resolve the issue.

    The Gold Standard

Simply the best managed 4 port wireless switch out there. I know it's expensive, but even Windows users should consider this. The range is simply unmatched by anything else. Three of these will cover the upstairs AND downstairs of a house with Faraday walls. Can't recommend it enough.

Fixed all problems with BT Home Hub 5

Like many others here I bought this to replace a BT HomeHub that was performing terribly and would drop wireless to the Apple TV if someone even just looked at their phone.

Set up was done in about 5 minutes. Just plug the WAN of the Airport into one of the LAN ports on the Home Hub (you will need a CAT 5 ethernet cable, not included). Open wifi settings on your iPhone and there will be an option to set it up from there. No admin login or BT username / password required.

Every device on the network now performs perfectly with no loss of signal or random moments of slow download speeds. Inc: iPhone 6, iPhone 4S, iPad Air, Sony Vaio Windows 7, MacBook Pro, some crummy Android phone (not mine I swear!), an Apple TV and a Sony PS4. All connected at once sometimes and nothing goes wrong.

Yes it's expensive, but it's well worth it. Stop looking at it and wondering wether to buy it or not and just get one.

    Apple Airport Extreme

Actually although I only have N devices, I recently bought from Apple, the new iPad Air 2 9X7" (in Gold) and this runs on AC Wi-Fi, a fact that Apple doesn't make clear to British Users - so now you have no excuses to get up to 465mbps on Apple's Airport Extreme!
