This widget implements Conway’s Life. Life is an cellular automata simulation comprising of 3 simple rules: Survival, Birth and Death. This allows simple patterns to grow in complex ways (and to sometimes die). Links to original source code and the Scientific American article from 1970 by Martin Gardiner that started it all.
