Whats New in this Version
Aperture 1.1 delivers new feature enhancements and addresses issues related to overall reliability, performance, and compatibility. This update is recommended for all Aperture users.
Note: You must first update to Aperture 1.0.1 and Mac OS X 10.4.6 before installing Aperture 1.1
Feature enhancements for this update include:
- New RAW adjustment controls in the Adjustments Inspector and Adjustments HUD: Improve the quality of RAW decodes via custom tuning of parameters.
- New Color Meter tool: Quickly and easily sample any area of an image for RGB, CMYK, or LAB color values.
- New image resolution controls: Specify a resolution in dots per inch (dpi) when exporting images or sending images to an external editor, such as Adobe Photoshop.
Compatibility updates include:
- Universal support (Aperture 1.1 runs natively on both Intel-based and PowerPC-based Macintosh computers)
The update also addresses numerous issues related to overall reliability and performance in all areas of the application, including:

- One of the following Macintosh computers:
- Power Mac G5 with a 1.8 gigahertz (GHz) or faster PowerPC G5 processor
- iMac with a 1.8 GHz or faster PowerPC G5 or Intel Core Duo processor
- MacBook Pro
- 15- or 17-inch PowerBook G4 with a 1.25 GHz or faster PowerPC G4 processor
- 1 gigabyte (GB) of random-access memory (RAM)
- Display with 1280 x 854 or higher resolution
One of the following graphics cards:
- ATI Radeon X800 XT Mac Edition, X850 XT, 9800 XT, 9800 Pro, 9700 Pro, 9600 XT, 9600 Pro, 9650, or X1600

Available Hard Disk Space
Aperture and its associated features require a certain amount of available disk space:
- 5 GB of disk space for the application, sample projects, and tutorial
Before You Install
Make sure you do the following before you install the software:
- Turn off any virus-protection and security software that you may have installed on your computer.
- Upgrade to Mac OS X v10.4.6 (or later).
