Message 1.5.1
About Message
Inspired by the eponymous screen saver from BeOS, Message fills your screen with text in a variety of randomly (yet carefully!) chosen color/font configurations.
The source of the text is up to you. Message can display the output of any Terminal program (like “fortune”, the BSD fortune-cookie program, or maybe just “date”, to get the date and time). Or, type in any Unicode text you like (something utilitarian, perhaps, like “back in an hour”, or maybe a selection of dingbats from the Character Palette).
Message blows Windows’ old “Marquee” screen saver right out of the water.
Whats New in this Version
- Fixes a problem with the built-in fortune script (that either runs the real “fortune” or displays a helpful error message). Message should work with the BSD fortune package again.
- Adds some additional eye candy to message captions.
System Requirements
- Mac OS X 10.2 or later
