Kerika 1.2
About Kerika
Kerika provide a visual context for team collaboration, with support for process templates, document management and sharing of large files. Kerika connects Mac, Windows and Linux users with no up-front costs or long-term commitments.
Using Kerika is simple: download the application; sketch out a project using Kerika’s Idea Pages (a collection of 80+ templates makes it easy to get going); drag-and-drop documents, Web links and pictures onto these pages; and share your projects with others simply by adding email addresses to the project’s team list. Kerika takes care of the rest:
- Buddies who are using Kerika get their project updates directly from your computer.
- If some teammates are offline when you make changes, a storage server automatically steps in to store their messages for them.
- And if some members of your team are not using Kerika, they automatically get project updates sent to them by email: these emails include snapshots of your Idea Pages as well as copies of any content (e.g. documents) that have been modified.
Idea Pages work like a “graphical Wiki”: when you change any aspect of a shared project, your changes are automatically synched up for everyone else on the team. When team members modify documents, their drafts are automatically sent to everyone else, with a simple, elegant document management system taking care of all the filing on everyone’s computers. You can also attach notes to documents and reuse any part of an Idea Page across several projects. And for complete privacy, you can set up a “private server”, at no extra cost, so that outsiders never get to see what your team is working on!
The software is offered as a subscription service: after a 30-day free trial, you can become a monthly subscriber for just a few dollars a month. Academic and educational users can use Kerika free.
Whats New in this Version
- Kerika’s document management system now supports documents created by Mac applications like Keynote, Pages, OmniPlan, etc. that are stored as “packages” rather than simple files.
- Users can import entire folders of files onto Idea Pages with a single drag-and-drop action.
- Files are zipped up before being sent to teammates, for better performance and security.
- It easy to share your project and process templates with other Kerika users.
- The software automatically checks for updates each time you start it up.
