Combining the power of many individual functions into one application in order to provide a single solution for law enforcement professionals and digital forensic investigators. When you need a single tool to perform digital forensics - you need MacForensicsLab™ from SubRosaSoft.

Detailed documentation is automatically created while you are performing your forensic examination. Logs are kept of every action performed, every item found, and freeform notes taken during the case, to tie them all together with your thoughts on the process. These can then be exported in a standardized, customizable, easy-to-share, template-driven, HTML report either at the end of, or during the investigation. Click here for a sample output report.

Evidentiary integrity is maintained and protected with the utmost care. Duplicates are made at top speed (perfect for time sensitive acquisition tasks) with careful consideration for protecting the original media. Backups are made with integrated segmenting, granular hashing, and intelligent media fault management. Inline processing allows the creation of dual output images and associated hash files.

Keyword analysis and cataloging is performed in multiple languages and includes MD5, SHA1 and SHA256 checksum calculations. This allows the investigator to seek out items of interest across entire devices, within folders of files, directly inside specific files.

Data recovery allows forensics professionals to find and recover deleted files and those also embedded - then preview those files within MacForensicsLab. Even swap space and unallocated space can be explored for evidence.

PKGImage 1.4

PKGImage is a modular system deployment tool for leopard (10.5).

About PKGImage
Every image starts with the same universal base that then is stacked with .pkg or .mpkg files that you can custom build with tools like Composer, Iceberg or PackageMaker.

Using PKGImage you can then stack the order in which pkg files are installed after the base OS to make up your complete image with the click of a mouse.

Tick the options to set the startup disk, re-boot after imaging and enable Active Directory / Open Directory bindings. ByHost files are automatically renamed for User Template and all Users on the system. A report is automatically outputted to the server so you know which machines have been done, at what time and what’s been installed.

Set the host / bind name automatically from an outputted .CSV file where name to MAC Address format will automatically populate the correct fields.

Add your own custom scripts to be run at the end of imaging and much, much more. Click the image button and sit back and let the tool do the rest for you.

Because the process is completely modular there is no need to re-image a computer because of a mistake or something was forgotten. Simply modify the original config file or create a new one and just get the system to update without erasing the computer or re-installing the base.

This also means saving space on the server hard drives. For example a base image of 3-4GBs is the same file for all images, Office.pkg at 600MBs is still one file even if it’s assigned to 30 different image configurations.

Once you have software as pkg files there is now no need to rebuild them to push one out mid year with ARD.

This whole process allows you more time to do the things that you want to do. No more having to wait for machines to be free before starting to create a set of images. More time to get the image finished sooner with more testing freeing up problem solving, adding forgotten software, customising images to give your users exactly what they want without the headaches.

Give your users more choice without spending hours/days building the master images for one group of people.

Extends the Mac OS X 10.5 (Leopard) Dock to show extended popup menus for most Dock items, including applications, stacks and URLs. Quay also allows you to make folder proxy icons with easily customized icons.

So why should you use Quay at all? Extra information, more flexibility. For one, the Dock’s popups are limited to about 500 items; Quay’s limit is in the tens of thousands. You can have a Quay popup on both sides of the Dock; Apple has them only on the document side. The Dock doesn’t follow aliases/symbolic links in its menus; Quay does. It works for Smart Folders, also shows application versions and (for running applications) CPU and memory statistics. Still, if for some reason you want the Dock’s normal display, just hold the Option key down before clicking.

Quay is a simple-to-use Cocoa application. You can run it just to configure a popup item in the Dock, but it works automatically with your existing stacks; the actual popup is handled by a background process that uses few system resources. Many more features.

Usually you cannot burn to a DVD more than once or burn to a CD more than once without creating a volume for each session burned. With BurnAgain FS you can do both. And even more…

BurnAgain FS lets you change the content of your data CD or DVD simply using the Finder. With BurnAgain FS you can re-mount your disk like a harddisk volume and add files, remove files, even edit and change files several times. When finished, simply click “close” to burn your changes to the media.

You can do this with CDR, CDRW, DVD+RW and DVD-RW, without erasing, until the disk is full.
And you can even change the title of your disk prior to each burn. Disks burned with BurnAgain FS are readable without additional software on all platforms. BurnAgain FS automatically preserves your special Mac file attributes (resource forks) as well.
