About LBackup
An open source command line backup tool for systems administrators. LBackup is a backup system aimed at systems administrators who require reliable backups with minimum fuss.
LBackup is configured with configuration files and the backup is started from the command line. The current backup code base has been tested for over 5 years. Basic screen casts are now available from the official site.
Whats New in this Version
- This release focuses on bugfixes and increased reliability of the backup system.
- In addition, there are a number of helpful new pre and post actions which offer great features that can easily be enabled on your backups. One example is the sparse bundle synchronization script aimed at Mac OS X users, who backup locally to an encrypted sparse bundle and would synchronize this sparse bundle to another server. This new bundled example post action script will start the synchronization once the backup has completed and the local image has been unmounted
System Requirements
- Mac OS X 10.3.9 or later
- RSync (supporting the copying of your required meta data).
- Familiarity with the CLI.
- Familiarity with CRON or LaunchD for scheduling.
- Familiarity with SSH for Network Backups.
- Developer Tools Recommended
