This program is flexible in its design, providing instructional materials and Apple Pro Training textbooks to augment existing curriculum, or as a solid basis for stand-alone instruction.
Once a school becomes an Apple Authorized Training Center for Education, they are able to administer end-user certification for its students.
What are the steps to becoming an Apple Authorized Training Center for Education?
- Identify at least one instructor
- Apply online
- Instructor attends an End-User Certification course given by an Apple Authorized Training Center and must successfully pass the end-user exam
- Instructor attends the Train-the-Trainer course given by Apple and must successfully pass the Apple Certified Trainer exam
- School must have up-to-date equipment in place
- School must use the Apple Pro Training books
Can a school offer both semester or year length instruction incorporating the Apple Pro Training materials?
Yes. Apple is flexible about the duration of the course. We leave it to each school to decide what works best based on its class schedule and curriculum.
Can a school offer three to four day paid workshops to the public?
No. In order for a school to qualify to offer paid workshops to the public, it has to apply to become a commercial Apple Authorized Training Center. Acceptance into the Apple Authorized Training Center for Education program does not guarantee acceptance as a commercial training center.
Does a school have to be an Apple Authorized Training Center to get a trainer certified?
No. Instructors can become certified end-users or trainers at any time. However, the school must be an Apple Authorized Training Center to be able to administer student certification and receive the benefits outlined in the Apple Authorized Training Center for Education Program.
What are the Apple Pro Training books?
The Apple Pro Training books (published by Peachpit Press) are the basis for the curriculum used by the Apple Authorized Training Center for Education Program. They contain project-oriented lessons that can be applied to both self-paced and instructor-led learning. Each of Apples professional applications is represented in the series (Final Cut Pro, Final Cut Express, DVD Studio Pro, Shake, SoundTrack, and Logic), and each book contains lesson materials on DVD or CD for use with the lessons.

How does a student become certified?
The school will receive vouchers for end-user certification exams. These vouchers are given to students after completing the course, which enable them to log onto the online testing system. The student can then register and take the exam, proctored by the school.
What is the cost for students to take the Apple certified exam?
$75. This fee can be paid by each student who chooses to take the exam or accounted for within class material fees.
Can the school issue a P.O. for payment?
