Project Management Workflow
As part of the Professional Services offerings for 1 to 1 learning implementations, the Apple Project Manager executes the following workflow:
- Identifies the primary individual responsible for the successful completion of the project
- Ensures the leadership team and IT staff are aware of and support the projects goals and milestones
- Manages and schedules technology installation, including scope, communications, risk management, conflict resolution, progress reporting, change control, lessons learned, and phase completion
- Manages infrastructure upgrades, such as wireless installation, network improvements, server set up and configuration, and printer setup and configuration
- Manages custom computer image design and implementation
- Manages asset tagging of laptop computers and other devices, such as projectors, camera, and video cameras
- Proactively assesses needs of the project, such as staffing, equipment, and schedule
- Acts as a conduit to technical resources at Apple and the central point of contact for escalating issues
- Manages agreements, statements of work, customer acceptance, and third-party agreements
- Acts as a liaison to Apple Project Managers at other successful 1 to 1 learning implementations to share best practices
- Coordinates with Apple Professional Development on tasks such as skills assessment, curriculum integration, training, and staff development
- Manages process for distribution of notebook computers and other devices; works with the school administration to plan and schedule the roll out and orientation for teachers, students, and parents
- Coordinates asset management process for the distribution, tracking, and servicing of hardware and software
- Participates in the development of a procedure for hardware replacement and repair
- Communicates, closes, and archives project for customer and Apple
