It was truly a band on the run, starting in Glasgow, Scotland, in
1971 and culminating in London, England, in 1980, with stops along
the way in Copenhagen, Sydney, Venice, New York, and Los Angeles. To
celebrate its run, Paul McCartney has just launched a website that
chronicles the history of Wings, the upbeat itinerant rock band he
started after the Beatles broke up and that included his wife Linda
as keyboard player and vocalist.
Pauls site includes video and audio tracks, as well as some special
video messages that he recently recorded in Berlin, Milan, and
Cannes to promote the May 7 release of Wingspan, his new
compilation of 40 Wings hits.

Heath Ledger and A Knights Tale
In A Knights Tale, a peasant squire (Heath Ledger) assumes the
role of the knight he serves, Sir Ector (Nick Brimble), after Ector
dies just one joust away from winning an important tournament. What
sounds like standard costume epic fare is actually a pop culture
send-up, complete with modern humor references, vintage rock songs
by David Bowie, Queen, AC/DC, and Bachman Turner Overdrive, and a
special appearance by Geoffrey Chaucer.
Sound like the 1400s you know? Surely you joust. This oddball mix of
comedy, action, and romance is now available for viewing in U.S
theaters everywhere.
Like to hear more about the film direct from the film's star
(and recent big-screen heartthrob) Heath Ledger? Then enjoy this video interview

Writing for Rolling Stone, Barry Walters has this to say about Exciter: Depeche Modes tenth
studio album ranks miraculously high. Produced by Bjork collaborator Mark Bell, Exciter glimmers
like a gentle ambient doodle with vocals: The beats are mostly minimal, closer to early Kraftwerk
than to current electronica. But because [Martin] Gores songwriting is so focused and [Dave] Gahans vocal presence
is so commanding, the softest songs leap to the foregound like a whisper from a lover.
And you can hear the entire album by tuning in to the Depeche Mode Listening Party.
Beginning today at 9 a.m., Pacific time, it runs through Monday, May 21, at 5 p.m., Pacific time.1
