An American icon turned 50 this year, and to celebrate, Motor Trend Online joined a caravan to Tennessee, where Corvette enthusiasts gathered to fete and fawn over their favorite vehicle. The attack came without warning. But after all, it was wartime. In the treacherous waters off Cape Horn, Royal Navy Captain “Lucky Jack” Aubrey vows revenge on the “Acheron,” the French frigate that assaulted his ship, the HMS “Surprise.” The hunt takes Aubrey and crew up the South American coast to the Galapagos islands, testing the mettle of every seaman and straining the relationships between the captain and his officers.

Set during the Napoleonic Wars in 1806, “Master and Commander: The Far Side of the World” stars Russell Crowe and is directed by Peter Weir. It opens on November 14.

To provide an authentic look for the film, Weir found and purchased a reproduction 18th century frigate, built a second ship in a tank, and spent weeks training actors to sail and shoot cannons. You won’t want to miss these amazing behind-the-scenes interviews and footage, as intriguing as the movie itself.
Raised by Santa and his elves in the North Pole, Buddy has their Code down cold. The only problem is, he’s over six feet tall.

Unable to deny his true nature any longer, Buddy (Will Farrell) travels to New York to track down his biological parents (played by James Caan and Mary Steenburgen), only to discover that life in the big city has little to do with ice skating and sugarplums.

Kickstarting the holiday season, “Elf” opens today.

The new QuickTime Streaming Server 5 has new features designed to make your job a whole lot easier. For instance, QuickTime Streaming Server Publisher hints your QuickTime movies (.mov) and MPEG-4 (.mp4) files automatically, eliminating a tedious manual step. In addition, it lets you create playlists of your streaming files with an intuitive interface similar to that of iTunes. You can even upload new files on the fly, without interrupting your broadcast. Need to create a web page? Just use the handy one-click templates.

QuickTime Streaming Server 5 is available as part of the new Mac OS X Server v10.3.

From the streets of New York to the ski slopes of the French Alps, AbFab’s divinely decadent duo, Patsy and Edina, embark on a series of wacky adventures in two specials from the hit BBC comedy series, originally broadcast in 1996 and 2002.
