Hot News Headlines
“MacBook Excels at Windows, OS X”: “Apple Computer Inc.’s latest laptop looks sleek, runs fast and should give makers of Windows-based notebooks considerable cause for concern,” says Robert Weston of the Associated Press. “With the simplicity and security of Mac OS X” and “its ability to run Windows at native speeds,” he says, “it’s a formula that should give other PC makers nightmares.”

Junkie XL: Digital Addiction: Routinely spending 18-hour days in his Amsterdam studio, Tom Holkenborg earned the name he’s better known by: Junkie XL. As one of the world’s foremost music producers and remixers, he’s the only artist who’s been trusted to remix an Elvis song, among a myriad other accomplishments. For his latest project, he’s getting back to basics.

Ed Burns: Risky Business: In 1995, Ed Burns made a small movie called “Brothers McMullen” for $25,000. With its moving story and compelling characters, it went on to earn millions. 11 years later, even with the stardom that came with his first success, Burns still believes that nothing beats a good story. “The Groomsmen,” made on a Mac and Final Cut Studio, proves his case.

Arno Salters: Rock, Paper, Scissors
Arno Salters
Arno Salters is a music video director who’s earning raves for his playful fusion of live action and stop-motion animation film techniques. Made on a Mac with Final Cut Pro, Salters’s videos are jaunty fantasies with a touch of vaudeville and a handcrafted style whose slight irregularities bring them to unusually vivid life.

“What I’m trying to get out of is that glossy, sterile, corporate look the music video industry has sunk to, where everything looks and sounds the same,” explains Salters. “People consider the industry to be in crisis right now, so most labels are afraid to be different — everything they make is a replica of everything else out there.“

Read more about Salters and check out his latest music videos for Imogen Heap, Mates of State, Honeycut and General Elektriks.
