Hot News Headlines
In “A Greener Apple,” Steve Jobs provides an update on the state of Apple’s environmental record, identifying “how far along Apple actually is in removing toxic chemicals from its products and recycling its older products.” Jobs notes that “upon investigating Apple’s current practices and progress towards these goals, I was surprised to learn that in many cases Apple is ahead of, or will soon be ahead of, most of its competitors in these areas.”

Reviewing Apple TV, Bob Levitus writes for the Houston Chronicle, “The Apple TV out-of-box-experience was just what I’ve come to expect from an Apple product—a real no-brainer.”

When Peter Joselow took over his father’s firm, the engineers were still using pencils and paper. “Twenty years ago, building engineers did not use computers,” he says. Joselow knew just what to do. “I bought my first Mac for the firm and started saving this business.” Today Joselow is one of New York’s most productive and successful building engineers, and he’s still using Macs.

Movies
Grindhouse Grindhouse; noun: A downtown movie theater—in disrepair since its glory days as a movie palace of the ‘30s and ’40s—known for “grinding out” non-stop double bill programs of B-movies.

From groundbreaking directors Quentin Tarantino and Robert Rodriguez comes the ultimate film experience: A double bill of thrillers that will recall both filmmakers’ favorite exploitation films. Presented as one full-length feature, “Grindhouse” consists of two individual films helmed separately by each director.

Tarantino’s film, “Death Proof,” is a rip-roaring slasher flick where the killer pursues his victims with a car rather than a knife, while Rodriguez’s film explores an alien world eerily familiar to ours in “Planet Terror.” Welcome to the Grindhouse—it’ll tear you in two.
