Introducing iTunes Plus.
Visit the iTunes Store, and you can purchase music from Coldplay, Pink Floyd, the Rolling Stones, Norah Jones, Joss Stone, and Paul McCartney that not only sounds sensational but, thanks to EMI, comes to you DRM-free.

We call it iTunes Plus. Burn it to as many CDs. Transfer it to as many computers (Mac or PC). Sync it to as many iPods, iPhones (starting this month), or other music players, as you’d like.

Encoded in AAC at 256 kbits/s, iTunes Plus music sounds better, too. In fact, it’s virtually indistinguishable from the original recording. Hear the difference for yourself by previewing it before purchase. DRM-free EMI music videos cost just $1.99; music tracks, just $1.29. You can also upgrade existing EMI songs in your iTunes collection for just .30 per song.

Higher-quality music that’s DRM free. Enjoy iTunes Plus.

YouTube streaming its way to Apple TV

YouTube Starting next month, you’ll be able to settle down in your most comfy living room chair and catch video playing 24/7 on YouTube. Your Apple TV will stream it wirelessly over the Internet, letting you watch YouTube on your widescreen TV.

Seamlessly integrating with iTunes, Apple TV lets you enjoy the content on your Mac or PC—movies, TV shows, music videos, photos, and music—on the widescreen TV in your living room. Apple Remote in hand, you get to sit back and effortlessly navigate your iTunes library—or browse through available content on YouTube—from clear across the room.

And that’s not all. Now you can order your Apple TV with a 160GB hard drive. That’s four times the storage available previously, letting you store up to 200 hours of video, 36,000 songs, 25,000 photos, or a combination of the above.

Outracing the competition

Bill Frakes For Sports Illustrated photographer Bill Frakes, there’s no day like Derby Day. He’s been shooting it for more than 20 years, and his goals remain simple: “I want to make a picture that you haven’t seen before. And, of course, I want the right shot of the winner.”

To attain his goals, Frakes gets out of the gate fast. “I start drafting my plans and organizing gear several months in advance.” And Aperture figures prominently in those plans. “Aperture is quite simply,” says Frakes, “the most powerful archival tool that a photographer can use.”

Bill Frakes He relies on it to effortlessly add metadata at the point of import. To quickly whittle thousands of images into a handful of selects. Add valuable keywords. Tweak exposure and color settings nondestructively. And export selects directly to PhotoShelter.

Aperture is a classic Apple program,” he says. “It’s stylish, it’s slick, it’s powerful and it’s reliable.”
