Product Information

  • The 45-Watt MagSafe Power Adapter for MacBook Air features a magnetic DC connector that ensures your power cable will disconnect if it experiences undue strain, and helps prevent fraying or weakening of the cables over time. In addition, the magnetic DC helps guide the plug into the system for a quick and secure connection.

When the connection is secure, an LED located at the head of the DC connector will light up; an amber light lets you know that your portable is charging, while a green light tells you that you have a full charge. An AC lead is provided with the adapter for maximum lead length, while the AC wall adapter (also provided) gives users an even easier and more compact way to travel.

Redesigned specifically for MacBook Air, the adapter is the perfect travelling companion. It has a clever design that allows the DC cable to be wound neatly around itself for easy cable storage.

This power adapter recharges the lithium polymer battery while the system is off, on, or in sleep mode. It also powers the system if you choose to operate without a battery.

Compatible only with MacBook Air with MagSafe Power Port.

Knowing which specific Mac model you have is important. If you are running OS X Lion (10.7) or later, go to the “” menu at the top left of your screen, choose “About this Mac” then click the “More Info...” button. Your Mac model and generation will be displayed.

Unsurprisingly, the 45W version is just as reliable as the others. Flimsy would be a generous adjective for this charger. It's act Unsurprisingly, the 45W version is just as reliable as the others. Flimsy would be a generous adjective for this charger. It's actually quite dangerous how easily this breaks and had I been a bit less careless, I could've had a nasty shock. I will not be giving Apple the satisfaction of getting an extortionate replacement from them when there are far cheaper alternatives.

This may I will now have to buy yet another charger for my MacBook Air, which will be my third charger in the space of two years. This may be one of the worst products I have ever purchesed, how is it a company like apple can have such innovative and groundbreaking success in computers, however fail to make a charger that doesn't break and lasts longer than a year?? Apple really REALLY need to take note and address this problem.

My original charger from 2011 finally stopped working after the wire disintegrated from the power box - almost about acceptable for 3-4 years worth of use. Eight months in with the replacement and it is suffering the same fate. Why can't Apple make something a little more sturdy?

I would defiantly not recommend this product, however you have no choice but to buy it. If you want your laptop to work you will be forced to fork out another £65.00 for a pile of flimsily assembled junk which probably costed about $3 dollars to make.
