    Trully magic

    • Written by from swinford

Using this mouse nearly a year and never had any issues or problems with it. Never had dropped connection or so. Very comfortable, very sensitive, nice looking mouse. Ok,the battery life might be bit better, but is not that bad as some people are saying. My one lasts about 5-6 weeks, which is not very bad. Overall would recommend this mouse to every mac user. It worth every single cent for it. Trully magical mouse

It seems such a great idea and looks good - but otherwise disappointing kit for someone who needs to be productive on a macbook. I tried to get used to this for a long time but tracking is poor and imprecise, movement is jerky, ergonimics are awkward, click noise is quite loud - and it regularly loses connection to the macbook. I use professional graphics and dev software and find this mouse a real frustration. Back to USB Microsoft mouse..

Utter garbage. As always with apple, it looks lovely. And then, after a while... sigh.

It drains the batteries like apple had shares in Duracell. It collects so much grime from a constantly cleaned desk that it's starting to make me paranoid. The bottom battery cover plate has buckled and is now mis-shapen. If you accidentally tap the mouse against the side of your keyboard or something else on your desk it loses it's wi-fi connection and takes an age to find it again...

Thank god I got it free with my iMac because I threw the ruddy thing in the bin and I'm using my wacom mouse now. Good riddance to it too. You'd be gutted if you paid 70 quid for it.

It's got two stars because the scroll function is nice. That's about it.

Much better than the mighty mouse or the trackpad

    • Written by from LONDON

This is a truly superb piece of kit.

Plus it doesn't clog up like that little ball on the old mighty mouse !

Really impressed , plus it is beautifully made and is incredibly beautifully designed - typical Apple brilliance I guess. :)

    Best mouse ever

Having only been a Mac user for just over a year am now a total convert. The Magic Mouse is far and away the best I have ever used. Can't understand the gripes of others. It is responsive and adaptable. Love it - thanks Apple for another great product!

    Mouse of Magic

    • Written by from Uddingston

Great little ergonomic and tactile Apple mouse with more features than your standard PC mounse that works really well with my MacBook Air.
The features are lovely especially scrolling and web browsing.
Only downside is that the surface seems to scratch fairly easily so take care with it.

    Best. Mouse. Ever.

    • Written by from YORK

It amazes me that the same product can perform so differently for so many people. I've had my Magic Mouse now for nearly two years and it's done absolute sterling service. I'm on the road a lot and was initially dubious about how durable it would be, being carted around in my laptop bag, but it's never turned a hair. I use it at least five days a week for around 7-8 hours, but only ever replace the batteries about once every 8-10 weeks, and I use rechargeables so it's not a high cost. Tracking is as sensitive as you'd want, wiping is a time-saving blessing for repetitive navigation tasks, and the fact that it doesn't use a USB port to take up a transceiver is fabulous. I will never, ever go back to a standard, or wired, mouse.

If I have any complaint, and it's not really a complaint, it's that the optics are open to the elements (ie, the occasional tiny hair or bit of dust from my table-top, which freaks it out). But a short, sharp blow on them usually sorts it out.

I don't want to contradict the other reviewers on here - clearly they've experienced disappointing performance. All I can say is, the Magic Mouse has been worth every single penny to me.

The most disappointing Apple merchandise ever? Has never tracked properly dips in and out which is intensely frustrating. No benefit to being wireless at all got it with my iMac but still feel the pain. Don't buy. Use my old wired mouse now.

Can't recommend - lost functionality after 1 year

    • Written by from Woking

Nice when it works but mine started to malfunction after about a year (i.e. after the warranty finished). Essentially it wouldn't track well. I tried all the recommended solutions with no success. Apple refused to repair or replace. I would really expect Apple stuff to last longer. Very disappointing for a mouse that costs £59! I can't recommend this to anyone.

The worst sensor Ive ever experienced

    • Written by from Nørresundby

I love the touch functionality in the mouse, which 75% of the time works as intended. I do on the other hand not like the sensor used in this mouse. It takes several slides across my mouse mat to get from one corner of the screen to the other. That is just not acceptable for a mouse in this price range.

    Great mouse, poor battery life

    • Written by from Hinckley

Bought one of these and it's great to use. The only two cons are:

    1) Doesn't always recognise a right click
    2) Battery dies SO QUICKLY!

    Worst product Apple ever produced

    • Written by from Newport

Somebody should have tried the product alongside the wireless keyboard - there is a bizarre imbalance between the light and overly small keyboard and the seemingly overlong, narrow, very heavy and very, VERY scraping - on any surface - (and sharp-edged) Magic Mouse.

Apple used to excel themselves at ergonomics as well as design. In recent times, Apple managed in a few areas to make design more important e.g. sharp edges on Apple iPhone, cold metal casing on MacBook Pro, overly heavy iPad. Those are minor inconveniences for which there are acceptable workarounds.

I have tried workarounds for the cumbersome weight and intensely annoying scraping, but this is a premium product and I shouldn't have to. Sorry Apple start again on this one - this is Scarily Not Great! Wireless trackpad, anyone?

    Best mouse on the market

    • Written by from Huddersfield

I have every type of computer and mouse available, from windows, to macbook to you name it! This mouse is fantastic. Been using it now for nearly a year and not only is is responsive but very efficient on battery usage too. I dont know why people say it is uncomfertable to hold? Honestly, don't listen to these reviews, it is a fantastic mouse.

    You have to get this!

    • Written by from Thames Ditton

This product is brilliant, so easy to use, really comfortable, I use it at work all day and bring it home to use as it is just so much better than any other mouse.

The batteries do not last overly long, I would suggest the rechargeable batteries or the charging unit, to reduce the cost of batteries.

I do however use it for over 80 hours a week so the fact that the batteries don't last isn't a surprise!

It is quite a different experience to a conventional mouse but after a little adjustment to your mind set you should love it, I would never go back.

    Rubbish- go old skool

    • Written by from high wycombe

It really hard to work in adobe suites with it, so I have had to switch all of the functionality off. Not only that but it looses connection every 5 mins.

I have replaced the battery 8 times since Jan in an effort ti resolve the issue, and yes i switch it off.

If you just a web browser and not a creative professional then the mouse would indeed rock. But if you want to work with this don't bother and get the old faithfuls.

I extend this as well to the wireless keyboard equally frustrating!!!

So i have about £100 plus sitting in a cupboard and i am back using the old equipment i luckily hung on to.

Although rather pricey this is an amazing bit of kit! whilst replacing my allegedly mac compatible ex-pc keyboard mouse combo which was starting to go faulty (again!) This has all the function of a touchpad with the benefit of being a conventional mouse. I wish I had bought this with my mac to start with. It is so easy to set up and after years of being purely on a trackpad a joy to use.
