  • Overview

The 60W MagSafe 2 Power Adapter features a magnetic DC connector so if someone should trip over it, the cord disconnects harmlessly and your MacBook Pro stays put safely. It also helps prevent fraying or weakening of the cables over time. In addition, the magnetic DC helps guide the plug into the system for a quick and secure connection.

When the connection is secure, an LED located at the head of the DC connector lights up; an amber light lets you know that your notebook is charging, while a green light tells you that you have a full charge. An AC cord is provided with the adapter for maximum cord length, while the AC wall adapter (also provided) gives you an even easier and more compact way to travel.

Designed to be the perfect traveling companion, the adapter has a clever design which allows the DC cable to be wound neatly around itself for easy cable storage.

Compatible with MacBook Pro with 13-inch Retina display.

      Poor show from Apple

I completely concur with the previous Gentleman's comments; we have a MacBook Pro and a Mac Book air and have gone through two cables in less than two years. I have an old Dell laptop which has been carried all around the world and the cable is still going strong 4 years on - Apple it is a very poor show. At £65 a cable it is pure day light robbery!

rubber on the cord rips open

I've had this macbook charger for almost 2.5 years and the rubber on the cord started ripping open in just one year. It's truly disappointing as my old magsafe I've had this macbook charger for almost 2.5 years and the rubber on the cord started ripping open in just one year. It's truly disappointing as my old magsafe charger from 2010 is still functional and hasn't ripped open. The quality of the charger declined so far where your older models are outliving the newer ones by almost 5 years is completely outrageous. I've taped up the opening with electrical tape since it's expensive to replace. Obviously these things are made to fall apart so people will have to keep buying it over and over. It's these little petty things that keeps me from wanting to support apple products other than the macbook pro.

      Useless

Same problem as everyone else. Cord starts to break down after a year leaving exposed wires, very dangerous and could prove a potential fire hazard.

A rip off. Unsafe and expensive. Apple should be ashamed.

It's unacceptable to be given such poor quality accessories when you spent a couple thousand dollars on a computer. Not mentioning that buying a new charger costs 100 USD in Australia... doesn't really make you want to buy 3.

      Horrible!

I bough my MacBook pro less than 3 years ago, and I'm going on my 3rd charger. This is unacceptable. They all fray exposing the wires. When you spend nearly $3 I bough my MacBook pro less than 3 years ago, and I'm going on my 3rd charger. This is unacceptable. They all fray exposing the wires. When you spend nearly $3000 on a computer, you expect more out of it and the accessories that come with it. I've always been a huge apple fan, but lately ALL of your products have been lacking in quality! Very disappointed.
