Just an OK Case

At $79 I expected it to be a gorgeous leather and very functional, but it's not. It really does not feel like leather at all, and I just have not been able to prop the iPad up on a table with the case, the way that I expected I could.. I am thinking about returning it for a refund. …

Great case; really adds to the iPad Air

I immediately decided to get it. I have prior experience with the Smart Case for a previous iPad (3) and didn't like it because the lip at the top seemed wide, clunky, and bulky. It could be that the new smaller form factor of the iPad Air allows it's Smart Case to be more pleasing. The top lip is narrow (like the bezel) and you hardly notice it. For my previous iPad I had both the Smart Case and a Smart Cover which I used in combination with a Belkin Snap Shield Secure. The Belkin case is a low profile shell (for the back) that was designed to accept the Smart Cover. I bring this up because it was my intention to use both setups and alternate them but since I disliked the older Smart Case so much I ended up never using it. For this new Smart Case, this is the only case I intend to get as I really like it. It's pricey as leather is the only choice, but if I had gotten the less expensive Smart Cover, I would have gotten an additional shell for the back so there would be extra cost there. I don't mind paying a little extra for a good solution like this. …

Up to snuff
This case has served my iPad mini well for 2 years. Outside buttons work well. Develops a nice patina. Good to touch.

Doesn't add weight to the iPad so much that it is uncomfortable or noticeable. Apple, it would be cool if the cover could be magnetized to the back when folded open. Could this happen?
When it comes to using the cover for a stand, it took a few weeks to break it in enough so that it would sit well without falling. But I do like the simplistic design of utilizing the cover as a stand.
"Price vs What you get" - In this instance, I don't believe the price is worth the quality. I could understand 39.99. In my humble opinion, $80 for an iPad case that wears to the point that it becomes clunky to use is really annoying.
Apple has always priced their products in a premium fashion. However, most of those products are good for a long time. Longer than 16 months. …
