    Not worth the money

    • Written by from Woodbridge

My Mophie case has not worked right after about a month. It started not charging my phone. Shutting on and off over and over. Now it won't take a charge. Basically it is now just an expensive, over priced protector. I will not waste money on buying a new one.

    Great when it works

    • Written by from Jersey Shore

It worked wonderfully for about 6 months. Now it doesn't charge the iPhone. It shows four lights, and when the wall charger is plugged in, the phone takes a charge, so I know the connector is working. But off charger, it won't charge the phone.

    Was good but...

    • Written by from Hartsdale

I bought my case when I was given an IPhone 5S for my birthday in January. It worked great for about 1 month, then the connector for the earplugs shorted out and I could only hear my music in one ear. I had a different case for my phone and did not need a connector, so I used that for awhile but decided that I really would like to have the extra battery again. I just received my connector and now am having problems with the case itself.

First, it charges off and on. I will have it fully charged. All 4 lights will be lit. I'll turn it on when the battery on my IPhone is low and it will start to charge and then just stop. Also, it seems to get very hot. If I take the bottom off and then put it back on, it will sometimes start charging again. When it works, it is great but when it does not, extremely frustrating. The biggest problem being also, you don't know when it will work and when it will not. Lately, it has been not working more than working.

I really wanted to like this, but after all of these problems, I am very, very disappointed, especially since I paid out a good chunk of money for it. Save your money, and look for something else.

I've had 4 mophie's total. Two for the 4s and now my second 5s. Each mophie has had
it's own set of issues. The 4s design flaw was the on off switch, poor location so that every time
you dropped the phone the corner was vulnerable. The 5s has two major issues, one is that it
needs to have equal distance between where you connect it. The first one broke after 5 months
because the whole bottom cover separated from the innards. Another design flaw is the stupid
extension jack which is prone to bending and then gets a short in it. I've had my new case for
3 weeks now and can't listen to the headphones with the case on because of this design flaw.
You can't use it without the extension because it's not long enough. I would not recommend this case.

Amazing, except that I don't use it at all because....

Mophie really shot themselves in the foot this time, or perhaps it was Apple who inadvertently did so.

I was always interested in using the Mophie phone charger cases (both my parents have had one for iPhone 4 and they recently upgraded to iPhone 5s) but after the change from the original iPhone port to the new "Mophie port" strictly on the iPhone 5 means I would have to buy another car charger specifically for my Mophie and another wall connector, and another connector cable for my computer (one would obviously be included with the Mophie, hopefully, but who knows). Looks like the greed has got to Mophie and/or Apple. If they would have just used the Lightning port I would never take my Mophie case off. It probably has to do with Apple being a rumpus about it's 'Lightning drive anyways.' Sad to say I'll be sticking with my 9.99 Incipio case for the time being.

BTW, Happy 30 Year Anniversary Apple

    Bad design! Second review attempt..

    • Written by from Hoersholm

I've been the happy owner of Juicepack for both my iPhone 4 & 4s, so when I received my new iPhone 5s, the first thing to do was to pick up a Mophie Juice pack for this phone too.
When I came back from the Apple Retails store, I tried to connect it to my Macbook Air. The phone started charging, but no iTunes! I then tried to connect it to my work laptop - same result.
I immediately raised a case with Mophie support to report the faulty device. To my big surprise, I got an email back stating that this behaviour, was by DESIGN!! You're meant only to sync via wireless was the suggestion...
Everybody using a PC in the professional world, know that there's no way that you can connect you your phone with VPN up etc.

So Mophie, sorry to say this, but I returned the box. Very disappointed.
Get your design right and connect the last two cords to the micro USB so we can use this in the pro world as well!

    Absolute Pants!!

    • Written by from LLANELLI

Charged my phone OK, but when connected to the power to recharge I got a message on my phone's screen saying "Accessory Not Supported". Common fault apparently, according to many forums. Morphie's own website recommends charging phone and case separately, which "should" solve the problem. Did not solve it. DO NOT BUY THIS PRODUCT.

Don't buy until they fix micro USB

    • Written by from Parker

I've used mophie cases in the past. I've only had this case for a few months and half the time it stops charging while plugged in because the micro USB port isn't very good or well thought out. I often get a message now saying accessory not supported on my iPhone screen which wouldn't bother me if the thing would keep charging my phone. Fix the USB port and I'd give it 4-5 stars.

    Third Mophie in 3 months

    • Written by from HUNTINGTON

I would not buy this product again. Very frustrating to become dependent on the Mophie to extend your business day, just to find out it breaks all of the time. I love the concept, but something is dramatically wrong with the design. They have great customer support, but to constantly have to send my case back, and wait a week or two for a new one is garbage.

    A joke

    • Written by from Santa Ana

*Pick it up from XXXX XXX as a battery case option, but:
*Can't transfer photos to Dropbox without a direct lightning cable connection
*Can't connect to iTunes Wireless (a lot of discussions about it on the Apple Community forums)
*No bloody diagrams of what button does what?. Are you kidding me? (yes, I have sight issues. diabetes)
*Video play back +seven hours?. Real use sez no (unless you have the SD version instead of the HD one. Gee, kind of nice they "missed" that little footnote). Wifi?: let me download those movies... almost

*Good things: Very slim case, and the "standby"/talk time does really come close to their claims (except Video play back), but every other option case wise are worse than this case, so...

First battery case, last one too

Problems with the bottom chasis coming apart as the glue does not hold

    • Written by from Causeway Bay

I've had two of these iphone5 mophie cases in the last 6 months and they were both defective! The problem is that the glue they use to hold the bottom part of the case will eventually wear out causing the outer shell to come apart which will disconnect all the internal components! I contacted mophie and they sent me a replacement right away. But after 2 months, the same exact problem which leads me to think it's more than a one off problem. They should recall this product!

    IF ONLY....

    • Written by from APPLE VALLEY

I was about to buy one until I saw that I would need yet another cable just to get it to work at all. I'm not a fan of companies designing their products in such a way that their costumers are FORCED into buying more things just to get the one thing they want to work at all.
If you fix this problem I just might change my mind.

    Don't bother

    • Written by from RUMSON

Battery works but if you're in an area that has weak coverage, this thing will reduce your phone into a brick, no cell coverage around my neighborhood now (I live in New Jersey). On top of that, the case fits so tightly that I have not been able to remove it so I can return it.

Awful product and poor design .HEAVY

    • Written by from Fair Lawn

This item is garbage in my eyes. The charge is not even a full charge, the color units fade off and the case becomes so bulky and heavy. I had three different cases from Mophie and they all broke or went back. Phonesuite is no better. I now use a my power pack 2200mh that gives me a full charge and its small enough to fit in a pocket.

Doesn't fit if you have any protective skin

    • Written by from Rockport

I use Ghost Armor on my iPhone, which is the only reason I could think of for not being able to figure out how to get it in the Morphie case without scratching or otherwise messing up the iPhone. You can't slide it into the case, so it looks like you have to push it in, which I'm not prepared to do since it is metal. There are no instructions on how to do this, so I'm assuming it must be that easy. This might explain why there are so many complaints about chipped paint and the like. In any case, I took it back to the Apple Store.

BAD Design Cant use Lightning connector to charge

    • Written by from Wall

Apples new Lightning connector is great, easy to connect, no polarity, can do it in the dark first time etc.

So what does Mophie do, use a inferior USB connector that is a pain to use and easy to fail.

Will NOT get another one until the genius that designed this figures things out

    Iphone 5 Mophie

    • Written by from Atlanta

The concept of the Iphone 5 Mophie is great! I loved the size, the weight and about the first day of the mophie. The mophie did not fit the phone very well. When you connect the Mophie case to charge, I had to take the bottom off still plugged in and then put the bottom of the case back on for the phone and the mophie case to charge. It was very inconvenient. After about two weeks the mophie case stopped charging all together and would not even charge the phone.

Too bad... I was really excited about the Mophie case because it is NEEDED in my busy life.

I purchased three of these cases and have an issue with one. The phone does not fit properly inside the case and moves and the charger cycles between on/off. I exchanged it once and the exchanged case has the same issue.
