Simply the best in-ear headphones for under $100

    • Written by from Lambertville

I have been using these in-ear headphones since 2008. My first pair last 4 years, and I have bought a handful since that time. I believe the sound quality, richness, and detail are amazing. I listen to many different genres of music, from rock, to jazz, to hip hop, to classical, they all sound clean and rich. I also uses these to workout and exercise and they have held-up very well. Additionally they are covered under Apple's 12 month warranty, so if anything goes wrong, bring them back into Apple for an exchange for a new pair.

    My Favorite Headphones

    • Written by from College station

I love these earbuds! They are the only ones I have tried that don't hurt my ears and stay in place while I run. I was incredibly bummed when I sent them through the wash by accident and stunned when I discovered they still worked afterwards. I rate these above the Bose earbuds I own, the sound quality isn't quite as amazing but those make my ears hurt, a lot.

    Top Earphones

    • Written by from Sutton Coldfield

These earphones have very high sound quality, people have complained about their bass but these people obviously do not have the right size ear tips in. Overall, the sound on these earphones are well balances and you can hear notes you never heard before due to the enhanced clarity. In the past I have owned sennheiser and soundmagic earphones and these blow them out the water. The only headphones that beat these are the Beats Solo HDs/Solo 2, but that is understandable because they are headphones. I have had these pair for a year, a little disappointed that they stopped working in the left year, but I will still have no doubt in buying a second pair. Well worth the money.

    Very satisfied!

    • Written by from London

Have been thinking of buying these headphones for a while, been waiting due to the bad reviews I had read.
Decided to give it a try being conscious I could return them in case of disappointment.
What to say? I am VERY SATISFIED.
Very good sound and, differently from the other apple headphones (£25), if the volume is set to the highest level nobody next to me (let's say while on the train/bus) can hear anything. Also No outside sounds are coming in, at all.
3 different sizes of silicone ear tips are also in the box, so you can be sure they'll suit you perfectly.
Nothing else to say, absolutely stunning.

    • Written by from San Francisco

I'm an audiophile and listen to hours of music every day. These are the best in-ear headphones I have used. They're a bargain compared to some of the other pairs out there that can set you back hundreds of dollars.

I am a very, very happy customer!! Buy these headphones!!

apple products rock! these are perfect for listening to music on my ipad air. when I bought them I wondered if there were any extra earbuds for fit and there are but I didn't need them because the buds already attached fit so well. sound quality is great. I know there are much more expensive earphones out there, but I like the sound on these. haven't answered a call yet, but i'm sure It will work great.

DON'T WORRY ABOUT THE BASS OR FALLING OFF THE EAR!

    • Written by from Praha

I've read the reviews here before buying and was sceptical about the bass performance and "constant poping off the ears". But I gave it a try and I am truly surprised how terribly wrong were these reviewers! The trick is really to PUSH THE EARPHONES DEEPER IN YOUR EARCANALS! It's that simple! That's the only right way. Then you'll be rewarded with actually very rich bass performance (I MEAN REALLY GOOD!), total external noise removal and it holds in the ear like it was glued. Comparing to my already broken Sennheisers CX300II I had before, these Apple headphones are noticeably better in sound.
Apart from that, the overall design is absolutely the best on the market. You got the cable that doesn't vilely curl itself and is elegantly symmetrical (god i hate these asymmetrical cables), you got the ultimate remote (which you can also use with your Mac all the way), you got a straight minimalistic connector (what is the point of the "L" shaped ones??) and you got a durable hard case for them, which looks like a piece of art. And again - they DOESN'T POP OFF THE EAR, nor the rubber pads are falling off the earphones (It's not easy to remove them actually). Only thing I can't say is the long time durability.

    Still love them.

    • Written by from Calgary

I've had these for 2 years now. With lossless content, great sound. However, the soft tips do only last several months. I've been able to get replacements from the Apple store, which works for me.
Keeping them in the original case all the time has kept them well.
The sound from these is fairly flat, but I like that because I can use the equalizer settings in iTunes to customize it for the genre I'm listening to.

    Very Good Quality!

    • Written by from Montebello

The quality is very good. If you like bass don't consider it; these are not beats by dre. I wear these headphones for about 5 hours a day and they are very comfortable. Whether its making phone calls or listening to music I have no problems. I use the small buds and they sit in my ear perfectly. The stock headphones that came with my iPhone never stayed in so I got these instead. I also own the beats by dre tour 2.0 and I prefer Apple's in-ear headphones hands down.

    Great headphones, have lasted well

    • Written by from Melbourne

I've had these headphones since early 2012, bought them on a friends recommendation and I loved the isolation and sound quality. I have had numerous other in-ear sealing headphones, including Sony noise-cancelling and expensive Etymotic headphones. I have found these the most comfortable and easy to wear for long periods, with an easy tonal balance and range that doesn't tire your ears out.

I'm buying a second pair for work now, because they have just the right amount of isolation for reading in the office.

    Second Pair - Very Satisfied!

    • Written by from Richardson

I see many of the mediocre reviews, but having used these headphones for two to three years and now buying a new pair, I think these are great. I've always felt the bass is good and the overall sound quality is high. You just have to make sure they fit snugly into you ear and get "seated" which takes a few extra seconds when putting them on. Once there, you're all set!

Best in-ear for price if used with Comply foam

    • Written by from Spring

I have tried many different in-ear headphones, but I keep coming back to these as long as I have use the Comply foam plugs instead of the ones from apple. Comply makes all the difference in the world.

After trying many others, I keep coming back to these.

    • Written by from Austin

Over the last couple years, I've been on a hunt to find some headphones that I can wear for extended periods of time (3 hours or longer for international flights) without discomfort or listeners fatigue. Every month or two, I buy a pair of headphones to try out. I've tried many brands from $15 to $150 which include Beats Tour, Bose AE2, Sony MDR-EX210B, Sennheiser CX 880, Audio Technica ATH-CKS55USBK, Klipsch Reference S4, Apple In-Ear headphones, Etymotic Research MC5, and others. Unexpectedly, I find myself coming back to the Apple Headphones after every new brand I try. They are clear, balanced, and reasonably priced.

These headphones do not exaggerate bass and the reverb is minimal. If you're looking for a set with punchy bass that creates a concert-like ambiance, you will be disappointed.

Note: The white rubber/silicone ear tips that originally came with these headphones kept slipping out of my ears. I replaced them with set of rubber tips from a different pair of headphones. Also, make sure to try different sized tips for each ear. For some unexplainable reason I had a hard time accepting that my right ear was a small and my left ear a medium.

    Fantastic!

    • Written by from Northampton

As soon as i got these as a Christmas present, i made sure i fitted the correct silicone buds for my ears, which is where i guess a few of the negative reviewers went wrong. They were miles better than the free ones i got with my iPhone and i've just doubled the experience by fitting them with some Comply Whoomp! memory foam earbuds. I'm now unable to listen to them at full volume because the bass is head numbing!
After having them for nearly 2 years the rubber has started to split where the leads go into the headphones on both sides, which I've cured with some white electrical tape Blue Peter style!
When it's time to replace them i'd definitely consider another pair.

    Looking to buy 3rd pair

    • Written by from Wheaton

I'm on the verge of buying my 3rd pair of these over a 5 year period (I think). These have been the best sounding and most comfortable earbuds I have ever purchased.

I an only say again, you MUST experiment with the different size silicone caps that come with them to find the right fit. Once you do, you can buy a bag of 10 replacement (offbrand) caps on Amazon for super cheap. I do lose an occasional cap, but I have a bag full of replacements.

Other more expensive buds do sound good but have TOO much noise canceling and a super annoying swish swish sound when the cable rubs against your jacket. I like to be able to have a good happy medium between passive noise cancellation while still being aware of my surroundings.

For the price, I can't find a more comfortable and better sounding pair.

I used the h-e-double-hockey sticks outta these (Apple won't let me curse)

    • Written by from Seattle

...and after three years, they're starting to fall apart. Still, a good value at $27 a year. For all you haters who can't hang onto the silicone tips (yeah, I lost one too), go to Amazon and order a three-pair set of Comply Whoomp Foam Tips for $15. They will absolutely block out outside noise and allow you to listen to music or carry on a phone conversation in a noisy area.

    Fantastic in-ear buds.

    • Written by from Jarrell

I was a little skeptical about purchasing these headphones because, to be honest, I have never really liked the traditional Apple earbuds that come with the new products. I actually received these as a gift from a friend. Now that I've had a chance to use them, I would definitely buy them for myself.

Considering the fact that these are not studio monitors I can still hear a higher level of detail than with traditional earbuds. I keep seeing people talk about not getting the bass response that they want from these and it's really a simple matter of fact... The drivers are tiny. They fit in your ear. An effective bass speaker needs to push a lot of air very slowly to make a big bang and that's why car speakers are so large and in sealed boxes most of the time. Tiny little speakers just aren't very effective at reproducing the super low notes, but I digress.

I would recommend these ear buds for those who like sound quality more than sound quantity.

    Love them!

    • Written by from Tukwila

I put off buying these for a long time because I wasn't really a fan of the in ear type. When I upgraded from iPhone 4s to iPhone 5s in January or this year with the newer type I started using them. And a few weeks ago I broke down and purchased these from a local store. I love them! I haven't had them very long but I have had no problems with them. I originally put the small covers on them then switched back to the mediums when I read another review about finding the best fit being important for the sound. And it was a huge difference! Now my bass is excellent! I love that you can skip and rewind songs right from the remote on them! I would definitely recommend them to a friend or family member!

    Apple In Ear Earphones

    • Written by from st.Austell

Sound is amazing, amazing bass and vocals. Good for all genres of music and block out other noises very well. They are also very comfortable and definitely worth £65. Found that bass is better if i push the earphones into my ears then they sound better and feel more comfortable as i can hardly feel them
