    Works just fine

    • Written by from London

The vast majority of negative reviews left here have been written by morons who don't know how to take reasonable care of things. Unplug your cable properly (grab the hard plastic part, not the flexible part) and pull gently. Easy. Stop blaming Apple because you can't take responsibility for yourself and your belongings. I've had countless cables with countless Apple products over the last 15 years and not one has failed.

Only had the iPhone 5c since May this year. The wire is already snapping close to the phone adaptor end. Can even see the metal wire underneath which is a complete electrical hazard. Unimpressed.

Apple! Do something! Jobs, come back!!!

    • Written by from Swindon

I bought around 12 cables already. All stop working after about a month of using it. Do something at last!!!
Until Jobs was alive, there was no problem with anything! What was wrong with the 21pin cable used with iPhone 4 and 4S? They work perfect! Not like your useless "innovation".

    Another broken charger

    • Written by from bedford

We have purchased around 5 new chargers for Iphone 5, some have been replaced by Apple free of charge, most have been purchased by us, surely there must be a manufacturing fault with these, so many people have posted negative reviews. I am off to buy charger number 6, come on Apple sort this mess out please.

iPhone Lightning to USB Cable is very poor quality

    • Written by from Ilford

The quality of Lightning to USB Cable is very poor. The cable got damaged near the lightening connector and the USB does not fit the connector properly. Not at all as per apple standard.

    Worst apple product ever

    • Written by from London

I cannot believe the amount of money that I have spend buying new lighting cables over and over again. Even cables bought in the Apple Store cause the phone to prompt a message of not certified cable . It's outrageous .

    Worst Apple Product so far.

    • Written by from Eyam

Over the last 2 years I have gone through 10 of these cables, £150 worth of them. They all have the same problem, the end gets all bunched up and a wire comes loose.Apple really need to make a better version of these. Its bad when the knock off ebay one has lasted longer than the real Apple one but at a fifth of the price.

    Not fit for purpose.

    • Written by from Manchester

I've gone through two in 12 months. The original with my iPad, the cable split at the Lightning connector, which then left the wiring exposed which eventually failed. The second, the Lightning connector has snapped off where it meets the plastic.

Looking at these reviews Apple, you need to take notice, because this product is simply not fit for purpose. When design and aesthetics override a cable that actually functions and lasts longer than a few months, there is something seriously wrong. Hundreds and hundreds of overwhelmingly bad reviews on your own site from Apple customers should tell you something.

I'm now going to have to buy a third cable in 12 months. Unacceptable. I'll say it again. This product is not fit for purpose.

    Cheap construction, ridiculously priced

    • Written by from Windsor

I must have been through 5 or 6 of these in the last two years alone. According to the Apple Store it's my own fault because when I travel, I don't "coil it up right". It's strange because I never had a problem with the old style cable. Because of the proprietary design, I can't even buy a third party cable. These cables are obviously very badly and cheaply constructed and sold at an absolutely ludicrous price. Come on Apple, you're really letting us down.

    advice for iphone 5 user

    • Written by from Derry

I have had multiple chargers for this phone and they constantly break within the month and obviously as a teenager I cant afford to keep paying £15 for a new charger very often so I just started buying cheap chargers off ebay. they all worked for a long time until the new ios update. In order for my phone to charge I have to switch it off to charge it which is quite useless and irritating because I cant even see if it is charging or not. But now it doesn't even charge with unofficial apple products and my phone has been dead for a few days now simply because I cant afford a new one. So I decided to try something a bit more hard-wearing and what seem to me- logical. I decided to buy the 30 pin to lightning adaptor and also buy the iPhone 4 cable, because they seem to last the same length as the phone does. The lightning adaptor wont get any loose wires or anything like that because there are no wires, and the iPhone 4 cable is very hard-wearing so that too will last a long time. I know this is quite expensive but its a good one to consider, taking in to account that you would maybe spend double that in a year- if not more- on iPhone 5 chargers that constantly break.

    Very disappointed... Wires snapped!

    • Written by from Bury St Edmunds

Got my ipad mini a year ago, and the cable started to go after only a couple of months. The plastic started to bunch up around the connector, and then the wire completely snapped! Bought another, and the same thing happened! Tried to take it back, and was told that I wouldn't be served, as all the technicians had left for the day (about 10 minutes before closing), even though there were still staff in the shop! Will try again in the morning, hopefully they'll replace it for free, as this website mentions a year warranty for cables, and this was the second one I've had in a year! Disgusted that so many people seem to have had this problem, don't apple think it might be a good idea to fix it????

Good Product and it does Last

    • Written by from BODMIN

As you would expect from apple the cable looks and feels of high quality.

Lots of reviews saying the cable doesnt last, but Ive had an Iphone 5 for 2 years, and currently an Iphone 6 and never had an issue (I take it to work and its travelled to several UK destinations and been in 7 countries and is still going!)

I think if you try and look after it then it will last!

Only given 4 stars as I would price the 1m cable at £10.

Just like all of Apple's cables

    • Written by from Malmesbury

Although Apple's i- devices usually stand the test of time pretty well, its a fact that their cables don't!! I have used many of apples cables and chargers over the years (magsafe, 30 pin and lightning), and they seem doomed to fail. Thankfully, 3rd party options exist, and if you limit the use of an original apple cable (keep it as a spare, in the car etc) you can pull a bit more life out of them.. Its just a shame they don't build them to last in the first place!
