Remote is a free, fun and easy-to-use application that turns your iPhone or iPod touch into a remote control. So wherever you are in your house, you can control the music in the iTunes library on your computer and your Apple TV with a tap or flick of a finger.
Using Remote with iTunes
Secure setup
Setting up Remote is simple and secure. Launch Remote, making sure your iPod touch or iPhone is on the same Wi-Fi network as your computer or Apple TV. Tap Add Library from the Settings menu and a unique passcode appears. Then enter the passcode in iTunes or on Apple TV to pair your iPod touch or iPhone securely.
Tap. Swipe. Play.
Control your iTunes library with Remote in the same way you play music on your iPhone or iPod touch. Choose a song, shuffle an album, repeat a track or skip to the next one. You can even create a Genius playlist or edit your existing playlists.
Search
Want to hear a specific song but don’t want to leave the company of your guests? With Remote, you can search your entire iTunes music library from anywhere in the house. Just tap out the name of an artist or an album, and the perfect song is at your fingertips.
Playlists
Tap the Genius icon to create a Genius playlist in iTunes. Tap Refresh for a different result. Or tap New and get a completely different playlist. Edit existing playlists in your iTunes library right from your iPod touch or iPhone. Change the song order with the drag of a finger or delete a song with a tap. It’s your music mixed the way you want it.
iTunes DJ
Remote comes with an instant party — iTunes DJ. Say you’re at the house of a friend who has iTunes DJ enabled in iTunes, you can use Remote to browse their iTunes library. When you find a song you want to hear, just add it to their iTunes DJ playlist. In fact, anyone who has Remote on an iPhone or iPod touch can join the party and add requests. You can even vote for songs requested by others.
Controlling the Show
Apple TV
Remote makes it easy to control your Apple TV using simple gestures. With a flick of your finger, you can browse through your media collection or search for new songs and podcasts on the iTunes Store. Tap to select and play. To find something specific, use the QWERTY keyboard and tap out the title.

AirTunes
