I purchased one and it doesn't at all. Only works with SD cards. Not micro SD cards in an adapter.

  • Just tested a 16 gb micro sd hc in a sd card adapter with iPad III. It works!!! Videos .mov imported and viewed on iPad. But we had the effect, that we have to TURN THE LIGHTNING PLUG before. If it is wrong plugged, nothing happend. If you rotate it, you can import from the card!

  • Inserted the micro-SD into the normal sized cardholder that I bought it with. Works fine in the lightning, transferring pictures to all i-pads. I-pad doesn't work with card-readers that need a USB port. Somehow USB-connected items are not recognized by the i-pads.
