    Poorest quality ever seen in a cable

    I have been an apple customer for years and have always loved their products that they design. I have no idea however what they have been thinking when they have designed both the lighting cable and other cables including headphones an MagSafe. The quality and durability is absolutely appalling, like terrible appalling, the worst consumer product I have ever seen. I am not sure what they make the cables out of, but it almost resembles a thin piece of chewing gum, and to charge such a high price for it is terrible. Apple needs to learn that if they are going to make robust, durable and reliable products, it must include the accessories also, they are part of the product. I have probably bought more cables from Apple than anything else. Terrible, terrible product. Shocking for Apple. Should be ashamed.

    We have got 5 of these cables in our household for iphones that are less than two years old and all of them are no longer working!! Absolutely appalling quality accessories for such expensive, high end items - NOT what I would expect from an Apple product!!

    Breaks easily

    I'm very disappointed that Apple, which used to be synonymous with quality, is now making shoddy products. I've only used my charger over night on my cabinet and it's stopped working. It's lasted a year. Ones you can buy in the pound shop have a longer life. Apple, please pay attention to the hundreds of one-star reviews and do something to resolve this.

    Absolute horror of a product at an absolutely disgusting price. The burning timbers of rotten old wood used to send smoke signals were a more efficient accessory to communication technology. This self-destructing cable of doom has failed me for the last time, back to the Nokia 3210 and the joy of indestructible heavy reliability...

    Needs redesigning

    I have got through 4 of these cables now even after trying internet tips to try and prolong their life. The design of these is wrong as being able to plug in on either side causes the cable to be twisted and they end up breaking over time. A design that allows the end to be twisted has to be introduced or generally a better quality cable that can tolerate the stresses it will be put under using multiple use. It wouldn't be so bad if I didn't need to use it often, but I can't leave the home without my charger as the battery on my IPhone and iPad don't last long enough. If the cables were less than a third of the current price then I wouldn't complain as much. While there is a a design problem Apple should make it cheaper for their customers to replace the product.

    Poor quality - not durable at all

    I've had to buy so many of these because the wires inside the outer white sleeve constantly break at the lightning connector.
    It's such a shame as iPhone, Ipads Macbooks are excellent.

    Come on Apple at this price they should be very durable, start taking note of the review ratings.

    Don't even brother.

    If I could rate this 0/5 stars, I would. Bought a second cable at the start of September and it is now October 28th and it has died. Of course I take it with me everywhere as it's a charger and I have long days of work and college. But the pathetic life line of under two months is a joke. It's unfair to ban other companies from making the same charger when the own company can't even make a charger to save its life. Sadly, this will be my last iPhone, when it dies I will be going to a different phone provider.

    Too weak

    The cables are way too over priced, if they actually lasted more than 3 months I wouldn't be so disappointed but alas I consider it a miracle when my cable functions for more than a month only. Wish they'd fix this problem rather than releasing new iOS updates all the time. ��

    They break too easily...

    I'll say that I baby my cables I keep them in the same spot, never tug them or mistreat them and I've had two break on me that came with my last three iPhone's. My whole family have iPhones and iPads and we're short of them, we only have two cables to share between all 5 of us and a dozen Apple products that originally came with them. I've just finally bothered to buy cheap third party ones from eBay, if they last more than 10 mins it's a result...

    I've never had a single Micro USB cable break on me, in fact I have about 500 sitting in a box from over the years, Apple's Lightning cable however is useless.

    A product that doesn't atand the test of time

    Totally agree with a review two doors down. I am about to purchase my fourth usb wire in a year becuase they stop working after a few months. People spend enough on Apple as it is as they cleverly monopolise, but the products should stand up to this. I could have purchased an Apple watch by now! (Please make the wire stronger and less prone to twisting at the top!)

    Lightning connector is too small

    Make the lightning connector bigger, i.e. the body is too small to grasp when removing from the phone. So instead of pulling the connector out by the wire, which results in it breaking and turning brown due to shorting out internally, make a finger and thumb sized pull out tab, so one pulls the plug, oh, and put more reinforcement on the cable in this area so it does not bend so easily, then the cable would be more robust and you would have a happy customer base.

    Treating customers with disdain

    I have spent enough on replacement MacBook and iPhone power cables in the last 5 years to buy a Nexus 5 for everyone in my family.

    Blocking the only iPhone cables I could find that last more than a month has finally tipped me over the edge. I just had to run out to buy new, inferior, more expensive Apple cables in order to charge my phone to take pictures of my newborn son. I find myself ill disposed to this company.

    It's the wrong plastic, Apple. It's the wrong plastic. It's the wrong plastic, the wrong plastic, the wrong plastic. We have been telling you this for years. If you won't fix it, then at least allow somebody else to serve your customers.

    Worse thing about Apple products

    Can't believe we're still struggling with this piece of junk called a charger. I take care of it, take it out by hold it right at the firm bit hear the tip(as taught to me by Apple workers), still fails. Sort it now Apple fgs. It's embarrassing.

    Apple I love your devices but this charging cable puts your entire business to shame. I am further disgusted by the fact you are prepared to drop in the odd stooge into this comment stream spouting the same rubbish I got from the store manager. The fact is the plastic you have used to manufacture these cable is not fit for purpose. End of story. This combined with your failure to acknowledge that fact and the price you charge for replacement is no less than a disgrace. We are not stupid and if you persist in treating us that way we will eventually desert you. Please sort it out now.

    Buying more!

    I'm back on here reading reviews and wondering if I'm the only one who manages to get through numerous charging cables. Two iPads and two iPhones, yet I seem to be continuously buying cables.
    APPLE though are between a rock and a hard place, they are not known for selling junk but that is where they find themselves with this product!
