We are excited to announce the addition of the iBookstore to the affiliate program. Partners now have tools to create top charts and build deep links to specific books on the iBookstore. Affiliate partners will receive commission on all qualifying sales over a 72-hour purchase window.

Key Highlights

  • Receive a 5% commission* on all qualifying sales from affiliated links to the iBookstore as well as the iTunes Store, the App Store, and the Mac App Store.
  • The affiliate tools have been updated to include iBookstore content so you can easily build deep links, display top charts, and programmatically maintain a database of links to all the books on the iBookstore.
  • New badges for the iBookstore are now available along with the iBookstore Affiliate Guidelines on the Affiliate Resources site.

Tools

  • Use the Link Maker tool to build links to specific books.
  • The RSS Feed Generator provides access to the continuously updating top paid books chart.
  • Use both the Search API "lookup" and "search" capabilities to programmatically access the iBookstore. You are able to search specifically for books using the "media=ebook" parameter in a query.

Reporting

All reporting will continue to be done through the affiliate network's dashboard. Book sales can be distinguished by looking for the "ITS EBOOK PX4" or "Q9066" in an individual items report.

Important Note

The iBookstore is included in the free iBooks app for iPhone, iPad, and iPod touch. Affiliate partners wishing to be commissioned for book sales should link from a mobile website or app on iOS.

Clicking an affiliated link to a book from a desktop computer takes consumers to a preview page. This triggers a 72-hour cookie window, in which partners earn 5% commission* on all sales referred to the iTunes Store, the App Store, and the Mac App Store. However, books can only be purchased from the iBookstore.
